I haven't read the book yet (its on my TBR list) but that was a very cute review and one I can relate to - I wrote a long email to a friend in France a few months ago and then my computer froze and I lost the email and I never rewrote it because....well, just because, it wouldn't have been the same and I was busy at the time and oy, I still owe my friend Vanessa an email!

Just got this one in from the library and can't wait to start it!
I just finished this one and listened to it on audio. There were parts of this book that were very funny. I enjoyed the bits about life in Seattle and I enjoyed the trip to Antarctica. At times I was sympathetic with Bernadette and other times I was so frustrated with her. All in all a good book.

At times ..."Arlene, great review. I did end up reading this a few months ago and also gave it 3 stars. I really liked the beginning but like you, I got frustrated with Bernadette and the story in general. A fun first half, wish the book had kept me interested in the second half though.
