How would you make the book you're reading into a movie (answer this even if the book you're reading has already been made into a movie).

1. What parts of the plot would you emphasize, and what parts would you exclude?

2. Who would you cast as the protagonist, and who as the antagonist; who would you cast as the supporting characters? Why would you make these casting decisions?

3. Who would your target audience be for this movie?

4. Finally, how you would hook your target audience through the trailer? What moments in the book would you want to make sure were included in the trailer, and why would you want to include these?

Sojourner | 23 comments Well in Iraqi girl the plot is set in a very dangerous country with gun fire every day. I would definitely emphasize how horrible it is to be living there out in iraq. There would be nothing to exclude in this story. The protagonist would be hadiya, the lonely girl living in iraq. The antagonist would be the us military because of how brutal they are to the people living there. The targeted audience would be young adults to adults, because not only is this story realistic, it is important. I would include hadiya talking about her life in the trailer, it would grab peoples attention.

Eric Rodriguez | 20 comments If i was to direct a movie for the book "American Victory", I would not exclude anything. The protagonist would be the main character which is Henry Cejudo and the Antagonist's would mostly come and go because he dealt with multiple enemies like who his opponent in a match and other people he had problems with. The target audience for this movie would be mainly for everybody. I would make the movie not in chronological order, I would make the setting swap in respect of the sequence of the book. That is how I would direct a movie for this book.

Jahmar | 14 comments 1.i would emphasize the hunger game part how somebody gets pick to do all those activities to survive and win for there district. I would take out parts that were really no meaning to it.

2. i would keep the same characters as protagonist and antagonist because it is great like that.

3. My target audience for this movie is people who likes action and adventure.

4.I would would show part of the ation part in the middle to draw them in to watch it. I would include these parts to make the audience interested.

message 5: by Arta (new)

Arta | 6 comments The plot for Oogy the dog only a family could love was mainly about oogy and how he was a bait dog for fighting dogs

I would change up the way it was set up and actually maybe add some more characters to make it more interesting and maybe make oogy not appear for a good few minutes and be able to see what has happened to him.

Nathanchong | 6 comments in my perspective all the teachers and some kids that I know in quest to learn can be in the movie.
1. all 10TH grade teachers can be the cops(except marla).
2. three kids can be the three victims.
3. marla can be the killer.
Finally all you have to do is act out all you lines and where done.

message 7: by Drew (new)

Drew | 16 comments I would emphasize on the prophecy part where percy can save or destroy Olympus.

I would keep all the characters parts the same because they work pretty well.

My target audience would be people who like greek mythology.

I would show parts where gods appear, ancient greek monsters and characters fighting their enemies.

message 8: by Charisma (new)

Charisma Ayers | 18 comments Making the book i'm reading into a movie would be pretty easy I think. Because of the type of story it is, and how simple in a was, that the plot is.I can actually imagine the book as a movie.

1. I would emphasize the drug addiction and the BEFORE innocence of the main character, and contrast that with the lifestyle and choices of the AFTER. I would leave out a clear resolution to the conflict of the story to leave watchers guessing and possibly leave room for thinking and people wondering if there will be a sequel. If it's a good idea then there would be a sequel lol.

2. I would cast a girl that pretty much exactly fits the main girl Kristina from the book's description. The antagonist would be a boy and another group of 'bad boys' and of course there would be the drugs.
3.The supporting characters will be the ones from the book, the same. Teens at a school, adults teachers parents and regular world people, for the background. I would make these casting decisions because they actually make sense and would make for a great book turned movie.
My target audience for this movie would be ANYONE ! Especially people my age though, i think it would be compelling. I also think that anyone who enjoyed the movie The Lonely Bones, would enjoy it as well, for some reason.

4. I would hook my target audience through the trailer by using shocking scenes and dramatic emotion evoking components, that will make everyone want to go see it. Much like the trailer for Insidious 2 and how everyone went to see it, no matter if they saw the first one or not. I would want to make sure than an overdose scene be put in there probably, because it's so SHOCKING ! Also very sad scenes so that they contrast well with the happy ones. (:
