Finished Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters a few days ago. A rollicking story in late 19th century England with some of the most frankly erotic scenes in any 1001 list book I've read. A different type of story than her Fingersmith but equally well-told.

The 13 Clocks by Thurber. You could read it in less than an hour. And maybe if you haven't read it, The Old Man and the Sea- 132 pgs. Woman at Point Zero is 112 pgs but probably not at your local library.

Here's a link to a (fre)e-book for kindle:

How did you like it? It's on my reading list for next year.

No I haven't but I will definitely check it out, thanks! It was very funny book! I also started and finished The 13 Clocks by James Thurber today.

Besides myself (last spring), you're the first of my friends or people I follow to read it, and you rated five stars- maybe more will follow.

I liked the first 5 short stories but wasn’t a fan of the last two.
