There's a pretty good TV commercial on now about a tree falling making a sound.I don't remember the product.
I have a pun (almost a shaggy dog story) that I wrote for HELL'S SUPER, my book that was published on Kindle this weekend. Oh, I ended up cutting it from the book, even though I think the pun is fun.Like most puns, it's a groaner. (Why is it that we can groan over a pun but still enjoy it?) Also, it isn't Pratchett. Still, I'd love to share, if all of you are willing to hear it.

When asked what she would do to prepare for her role in my short story, The Wicked Witch of the West: The Tornado Returns, the Wicked Witch replied, "Eat plenty of baked beans."http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FP0D6LU
Keep working guys! The winner of the Punday Night punning contest gets sent to the punitentiary.
I once sent nearly a dozen puns to a contest to see if any would win, but no pun in ten did.

I appreciate a good pun, but there's a fine line between a good pun and punishment. (Um, sorry about that. :) )
I always found Piers Anthony was good for a bad pun, on occasion spending several pages before the delivery. I can't remember which one of his books it was, but in one he managed just about every cat pun known to man.
Spider Robinson included many entire Punday Night contests in his Callahan's Saloon books. In many of his books, he seems to divide his time between kinky sex and bad (ie great) puns/shaggy dog stories.
And tonight on NPR they finished up a story about three stolen trailers full of walnuts by noting that "the case has not yet been cracked."
Hello everyone! I'm new to the group. I love this discussion. My book, Fast Laughs, has dozens of original puns.I feel like a whale outta water. Hope I'm not... blowing it.
:)
How about thieves stealing all the police station's lavatories and the police have nothing to go on?
