Looking for a book i read in my teens, before 1996. Starts off with a woman reading tarot cards before her trip to the jungle? Amazon? Not sure if shes a mercinary or treasure hunter. Mayan or incan relics. Something about a large black panther or jaguar....also i think stones or gems were involved...... Was paperback.... I know not much to go on, but i appreaciate any help!!

I can’t really remember- it’s starts with a girl woman who reads tarot cards joining an archeologist dig. Then the locals and mercenaries reek havoc.....
