Vance looks at Declan. "Go. Get ready." he said, then turning to Katherine. "You ready to impress me?" Vance said, smiling a little.
Declan nodded and ducked into a tent. Putting on armor, and getting a sword. He came back out and stood beside Vance.

Vance looks at her for a moment. "Yes." he said simply. "Swords, only." Vance said. He walked away to the other side of the fighting field. "Get ready, young one." Vance called to her

Vance gives a flick of his pointer and middle finger. Watching her carefully. She would have to get used to armor. Only this would he allow an exception. Vance puts his hands behind his back again. Pacing slowly along the sideline.
Declan smiles and walks past her, sliding his sword into his sheath and taking a stance. He was standing in one spot, arms crossed. Expression blank, doing absolutely nothing. As if he wasn't about to fight. Declan kept his hand away from the hilt of his sword. He knew it was he weakness. Showing when he was going to reach for his sword, making him a free target.

Vance watches her with interest. None had done that before. He pursed his lips and stood still. Mirroring his son's stance. Head high, shoulders squared, back straight, and arms crossed.
Declan gave a slightly shrug. Staying where he was. He was going to have to coax her into making the first move. He noticed how she stayed a good distance from him to avoid being jumped. Since this wasn't real there was no time limit, therefore, he could stay still until she either gave up or made the move.

Declan's hand itched towards the hilt of his sword but he didn't grab it. Declan lightly gripped his own arm as he watched her. "Come on." Declan said. "I'm getting bored."

Declan smiled. A plan forming in his mind. Declan pulled out his sword and rushed her, making the first move. Typically that's a bad idea, but in this case its exactly what he wanted. He took a.swing for her left thigh.
Vance narrowed his eyes on his son. This wasn't usual for him. He never rushed, and more importantly, never made the first move. What exactly was he planning on doing?

Declan twisted to the side and bent slightly, avoiding the hit. He smiled to himself, rushing her again, taking a swing for her calve this time. If he could get her to...then he'd be golden.

Declan cursed, feigning the hit. Hoping she fall for it. If not, no biggie. It wouldn't ruin his plan in anyway. He could do this all day.

She jumped back and smirked. She was going to kill him, he was annoying her. She slid down, and did a double cross to both his calves. She slid out from under him jumping away and turning back so he couldn't do a surprise hit.
Declan jumped to the side. Her sword catching the side of his left thigh. He gritted his teeth, spinning around, feeling the blood slide down his leg. Well, at least he didn't have to fake the injury. Declan came up to her slowly, as if it made him slower. It didn't, the wound just hurt a whole hell of a lot.

Declan took a step forwards for everyone she took backwards. Declan then ran forward. He faked coming straight at her but instead veered to the right. Declan had noticed how the grip on her sword was always tight but left her with a weak point. The tip of her sword. He slammed down the center of his sword onto the tip of hers. Making it fall out her grip, he swung out a leg and knocked her over. Once she was on the ground he pointed the sword at her heart. "I win." he said.

Declan grunted as she pierced his armor then kicked his knees. Making him hit the ground, his sword falling out of his hand as he put his hands out to brace himself. He looked up at her as she pointed the sword to his neck. "Nicely done." Declan complemented.
Vance pursed his lips and walked out onto the field. Standing beside Declan, facing Katherine. He waved over a physician to help Declan with his thigh. He then looked at Katherine. "Well done, young one." he said. "You've got great swordsmanship. Just watch the way you hold your sword."

She turns and nods and the king and says the same thing, "Thank you my lord" for the advice and compliment though she hates saying it. She didn't ever want to thank him for anything, he wasn't doing her a favour. She was doing him one.
The physician helped Declan get up and walk into the same tent that he'd changed in. "Its not a big deal." Declan said as they walked into the tent.
Vance narrowed his eyes. "Anything you need? Water? A bed?" he asked politely. Folding his hands in front of him.

Vance sighed. "I cannot know what you need. If you need anything please tell me." he said.

Vance raised a brow in confusion. "Didn't Declan show you to the guard's quarters? If he didn't please say so." he said.

Vance nodded. "Then where did he take you when I told him to escort you to the quarters, hmm?" he asked Katherine.

"Mm. So where is your stuff?" he asked her. "I know its not sitting in the Hall." Vance said, searching her eyes as he said so.

Vance nodded. "Then let me show you to your room." he said, turning around and walking off.

Vance led her through the halls. People bowing as he passed by, his black leather boots clomping against the castle floor.

Vance turned rather abruptly on his heel and looked at her. His dark eyes narrowed as he scrutinizes her. There was something about her. He'd recognized those fighting moves. From where, he couldn't remember.

"Don't hide yourself, girl. Speak normally, stand up straight, and let me see your eyes." Vance said. "I will not accept falsehood into my guard." Vance told her, making more of a threat then pointing something out.

"Now, where we're you taught your swordsmanship? By whom?" Vance asked her slowly. "Do not lie to me." he said, narrowing his eyes as he looked at hers. Black?

Her eye color was irritating him. Vance nodded slowly. "Mm hmm." he said. "Come this way, we must continue." he said, turning around and walking back down the hall to his destination.

(Sorry short reply)))
((It's okay.))
Vance walked her into the barracks and opened the door to her new room. "This is where you'll stay. No one will hurt you or invade your space, if so tell my son." he said as he watched her.

"Thank you" she said heading into her room and waiting for him to leave so she could relax in peace.
"I will" she added thoughtfully.
Vance nodded and left.
((Gah. What should we do next?))
