Jason (skinnydippingintobooks) | 234 comments this HAS to have been asked already, but I did a search and couldn't come up with any related searches.

Ghost, paranormal, scary, dark, halloween appropriate fiction of any kind (though I prefer more modern to the older, 1900s writing style). Oh, short, long, really long, it doesn't matter. anything goes as far as subject.

PLEASE PLEASE, if there is a thread related to this shoot me in the right direction, as I don't wanna be redundant.

I'm aware that I have asked for scary books, books like american horror story, ghost stories, and books that are psych related but with an under layer of horror. I guess I am looking for new books outside of these parameters or new ones that fit into these tight and restricted frameworks. I am feeling like opening it up to any subject as long as it's a bit on the scary, dark side. Oh, doesn't have to be really in your face scary, as in Your House Is on Fire, Your Children All Gone, and that style of gloom, old practices, etc may be exactly what I am looking for; subtle is nice too.

Jess ❈Harbinger of Blood-Soaked Rainbows❈ | 20 comments I am not usually a scaredy cat when it comes to books but I can genuinely say the only one that truly had me up all night shaking in my socks is 1408 by Stephen King. You can find it in the short story collection Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales. The rest of the collection is pretty good as well. My friend also was pretty freaked out after reading Doll's Eyes by Bari Wood though I cannot personally vouch for that one as I have never read it myself.

Jason (skinnydippingintobooks) | 234 comments Oh brilliant thanks. And I'm such a mood for shorts lately. I'll get my hands on it as soon as possible. I don't like king in full novel form, but maybe I an digest him in smaller pieces. Thanks again.
