The Gold tones are better, it fits in with the whole, Jake being the sun, theme.

:) It also excentuates the skin tones, of the wolf pack. As well as the amazing views of La Push during the summer.
Er, the golden one seems a bit warmer and more natural, but i think the blue goes better with the overall mood of New Moon so I can't really say which is better right now.Maybe when I see more of the movie i'll have a better opinion of it.....
i think the gold is best as some one has said before it goes with the whole Jake is the sun also the wolves will look really cool with this instead of the bluish tint
It's funny b/c a friend and I just got to talking about this yesterday. One of the main things I liked about Twilight was the Blue tint and I understood why they went with that tone. Possibly to translate Cold blooded Vampires and danger. I think that with New Moon maybe the warmer / gold tint is used to translate the hot blooded wolves and friendship. But I wish they would have swapped the colors because the blue translated (to me) sadness not first love. So gold or a warmer tone would have been a more fitting color for Twilight and Blue for New Moon because let's face it NM was depressing! But hey I am open minded and I guess both work well. So we'll see. I can say that from the trailer it looks as though the acting / script may have gotten better! I can't wait. Also I think that the vamps looking less pale is a good thing. They are suppose to be beautiful not Eddie Munster and sorry to say but in some shots that's exactly what Rob looked like. I hope they do better with the makeup. Make it more realistic. The Vampire makeup in Interview with the Vampire or True Blood are the direction they should take it in.
I love the gold tint! It makes sense for them to change the look of the movie. The blue tint made the vampires' skin too harsh and a number one complaint from everyone. So, why not change something that wasn't working. From what I've seen so far, the gold tint compliments the vampires very well. Plus the Volturi is introduced in New Moon. The gold tint will definitely compliment their antiquity. And yes, it also translates to Bella and Jacob's relationship. Overall I am liking the gold tint.
did anyone else notice that blue was the color for twilight in all the memorobilia and stuff and gold is for new moon? like on the calendars and posters? i find that ironic...and yeah, the gold looks better cuz it looks more realistic. i didnt really notice the blue in twilight, but i wasnt exactly looking for it either. but i did notice that the coloring was a little... dull? but tahts how all movies make the coloring, once you compare it to the 'behind the scenes' segments. idk why that happens...

The blue stood out like crazy to me.

i also agree. In blue it looks depressing.

The second I saw this trailer, I felt slightly dissapointed. I realised instantly about the colour change, the blue tint had something alluring about it. I can't explain it but the blue made it mysterious and exagerated the pain the characters are going through. I suppose what I've wrote doesn't make sence, person opinion.
But I think that since the book is set in summer it's also appropriate. Summer isn't normally blue.
I like the gold better. I must agree that I think the blue made the vamps look to cold and pale. they are suppose to be beautiful creatures not dreary and dismal. I can't wait to see the shimmer from both the vamps and wolves!! good decision to change the color!!
I hope it's not red tint...*shudders* Eclipse would be even more bloody!
If they set thier mind to it, they could. I mean, they did blue tint didn't they?
If they do that they mine as well just do gold again though.
I agree, I like the gold for the new movie, I think the link with Jacob being her "sun" may just be coincidental. She also didn't like Forks at first and it was such a contrast to Phoenix, then it warmed up to her. Just a joke but, should Eclipse be dark like shadows? Can't fight with an Eclipse!

I love that Idea, joke or no joke. :)

somehow, i think new moon should have been blue.it makes everything fit in more with the mood. But i havta say, the gold looks great so far.And eclipse definitely needs a colour that makes it seem more...violent?
Seemingly they had put much thought to the tint. Wonder what is conveyed through the gold tint of the new moon.
Hate to sound repetitive. Maybe the Jacob is the sun theme?
Dark, forbidden, ominous love?
Well, wasn't Chris Weitz other film The Golden Compass also in gold tint?

I like the gold tint. I think the blue tint made it very apparent that Twilight was a lower budget film...don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, but it just made it look extra cheap to me. I mean, I think it was good for the vampires' pallor, but Bella is supposed to be really prone to blushing and all that...and the blue tint made her skin look the same as the vampires.

When I found out that twilight didn't get a budget like Harry Potter, I was upset. Although, I admire how Catherine Hardwicke streached the funds.

Yes, after reading the notebook and companion, it was evident they put their blood, sweat, and tears into it.
The funny thing is, that without the use of green screen in Twilight, it looked more believable. My eyes believed that they (The Vampires) could run twenty five miles per hour. Wires rock!
I watched Harry Potter last night, and there was no comparison, since they used so much green screen. Whenever they did, you could see a faint white outline around Daniel Radcliffe, whenever there were quidditch scenes. It was like he was over a painted background...Which was probably what it was, a painted background in CGI.

I love the films! I haven't gotten around to reading the books, so everything I know about Harry Potter comes from them. I'm a total geek about the films, and my jaw almost touched the floor when Sharda told me the books were better. I've never missed them in theatres, I'm going to search the couch cushions for my AMC card, to see if I can't see the latest soon. I have the first four on DVD, and I just finished downloading the fifth on my computer. :D
The gold tint actually looks a lot better. It seems appropriate for Jacob. The blue tint is better for Edward, though.
No, i wonder what they'll use, too. I mean, surely they won't just go back to blue tint, or keep using gold tint.
Well, Twilight blue is an Edward tint, and New Moon gold is a Jacob tint, and Eclipse is very fire and ice.
What do you get when you mix blue and yellow (gold)? Green! Green tint?

Maybe I should pitch some stuff to Summit.

The New Moon trailer and recently released stills from the movie have revealed that New Moon will not have the same blue tint that Twilight did. I’ve made the image above which roughly approximates the old Twilight look on one half of an image from New Moon and keeps the other side as it will be in the movie.
How do you feel about this change–do you think it is for the best, or do you wish it still had the icy tones of the original movie instead of the new golden look?
