Here's an in-depth explanation on how the cover categories (CC) work
Let's say the CC called is single woman, then your team might read the following:
team member 1
team member 2
team member 3
You may choose any genre to read as long as the cover works for what's called. And you don't have to finish the book before the next CC is called, but when/if your team starts to get 3 or 4 in a row you'll want to concentrate on getting those books done first.
Also, when you finish a book all you have to do is post what book you read, the dates you read it (start and finish), your rating, and your review (you can copy & paste it or just post a link to it - whichever is easier). Once all members of a team have read a book for the CC, your captain will let me know and I will stamp your card.
You can all read the same book, all read different, or two of you read the same and one different - whatever you want. The cover just has to match whatever is called.

WAYS TO WIN:
Five in a row (any direction), the four corners or a postage stamp in any corner would all be a valid bingo. Here's a picture that shows what each of them are:

I know this picture shows two postage stamps, but only one would be required.

So, to make sure I understand correctly, the cover of the book you choose to read has to match the category called? So if "quilt" is called, the cover of the book I choose to read has to have a quilt on it?

That's exactly right :)
That's exactly right :)

Woohooo! This should be fun!
Happy to see so many people sign up! I'll get the teams together sometime this afternoon, so if anyone else still wants to sign up now would be the time to do it. :)
Thank you everyone for signing up to participate, the team have been posted! Check out post 5 to find out which team you're on :)
Also, if you could check to make sure that your team's card on your team thread matches with my spreadsheet I would appreciate it. Just let me know in the Discussion & Questions thread :D

I'm thinking that we may need a backup player, so if anyone would like to signup to do that please just let me know. :)

No you didn't. The next cover will be called early on the 8th. :)

How-To Play
Each team will get a card with the same 24 cover categories, but each will be randomized differently.
Every other Friday one of the categories will be called (the same one for all teams). You then have to find a book that matches it. Once you've read it, write a review letting us know what you thought (a few lines is fine) and then post it in your team thread. After all team members have read their books, your square will get a stamp.
There is no deadline to finish a book, but a book cannot be started prior to the category being called.
Deadline to signup is October 18th . Teams will be created on October 19th, hopefully that will give you plenty of time to decide on both a captain and a team name. All the captain has to do is notify me that they are ready for their stamp and the post #s where I can find each team member's post of what they read.
Challenge begins: October 25, 2013
Ends: when the first team calls a valid bingo
All formats of books are allowed for this challenge.
Books must be at least 150 pages long (if reading an ebook, please check the paperback or hardcover edition for page count).
If this sounds interesting to you and you can commit to reading a book every two weeks, please sign up below.
