Michelle I liked the first book. The 2nd book was alright.

But this book I couldn't stand.

The entire series amps up this idea that ONE DAY they will all get their memories back and when they do, everything will be explained -- or at least, the characters will be given an explaination that they can choose to like or dislike and then other bigger conflicts could then fall into place.

Instead, Dashner decides that his characters will decide NOT to get their memories. Meaningless action ensues into a nearly meaningless ending.

It just seems like such a waste of an opportunity and for me kinda ruins the entire serires.

Anyone else agree?

Mojoboy31 Hate's a strong word. But I do not like this book. I don't like the end, I don't like the way they pushed characters into the background, nor how they got rid of some characters, and I hate the "zombie apocalypse" storyline.

Tina J Well.....it's better than The Kill Order! lol

Wasn't too keen on the 1st book, I really liked the 2nd and the 3rd was just ok.

All in all.....the entire series kinda sucked lemons!

Mojoboy31 The first book starts slow, but it has good mystery and a strong narrative, and great supporting characters. The second and third books were just sprints to the finish. No story, just peril.

Addee No, I loved The Death Cure. It was the best of the 3, heaps of action, character interaction was far superior, the story had reason, direction, resolution, was fast paced & satisfying. Book 1 was good, book 2 was painful. It's ok if u disagree but I loved book 3....

I love this book. The first one was by far the best but still I loved this book so much. No hate.

Saleh Saadi I LOVED IT! it was so creative.

Noa The first book introduced you, to this whole new world with mysteries, chaos and discovering the unknown. It was good because, there was a lot of character and world building.

The second book, The Scorch Trials, has to be my favorite in the series. There is so much peril, danger and everything is coming for every side.

The third book, just rushed to an end, there is a lot of action and things really heat up, but so many questions were left unanswered and you get a last minute ending that left you thinking "What?". I have to say, I enjoyed the book, but didn't really this is was amazing because of a rushed ending.

Ariane I love the series however, there are some scenes in the trilogy (especially in the third book) that is so random and yes, meaningless. Example. The treatment of Thomas after the Scorch Trial. Why do they have to single him out from the others wherein there also in their team that shows immunity in the Flare? As one of the subjects, with equal footing with Teresa, Minho and the other Immunes, why only him? It just doesnt make any sense.

There are really big gaps. In the first book, the unsolvable variable is just too much and that all they have to do is just to find ways to get out from the Maze. Then why with all the varying Maze pattern? hmmmm ever think of that?

Then after everything they went through, after all the trials...WICKED wasnt able to identify the exact cure for the Flare and instead go with the preservation of the last resources of mankind which are the Immunes and just let the remaining human population die out as a consequence for failure in aiming something higher for mankind. Such as waste of Life, time, money and effort. Why oh why?

I was like "oh well..." and I tried to move on. Anyway, I love the series. The epilogue is very hanging. I want to know more what happened to them after everything. Did Minho became like the mayor? Snicker...Did Thomas and Brenda ever had a child together?

What I like with this book is the unpredictability and the randomness. It went beyond the box which I like. I prefer the first book because it made me think that there is something out there for me. I just have to find it and fight for it. I also love the Third book because of Minho's lines of Leadership. This trilogy somehow made me see myself as a stronger person able to withstand everything and everything in life is a variable. Oh gosh....the speech again. hahaha

hmmm...really? I tried reading the Kill order but I stopped because I figure that its time for me to move to Divergent. Too much Maze Runner in my head will make me go nuts. ehehehe But I love the trilogy.

They had the varying maze patterns because they spelled out a code which they had to punch in the get rid of the Grievers... How can you miss that?
