Ingo The German DVD / Blu-ray of Saphierblau is set to be published March 5th, 2015 in Germany, but that may change (both to an earlier date or to a later date). Should be in German and English (as the first one).

message 53: by Alexandros (new)

Alexandros Michael movie4k.to is a free source of movies and tv shows, i only watch movies from there. they never ask for credit card. maybe you just clicked on an advertisement. However they only have rubinrot there so far, not saphirblau. lets hope that someone will at least put some english subs on it, doesnt have to be vocally translated to english!

message 54: by Dory (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dory I prefer subbed than dubbed

In rubinrot the dubbed version sounded so weird
like the voices were unnatural for the person. With barely any emotion.

PLEASE SOMEONE PUT SUBS <3

message 55: by Sari (new)

Sari Gutman I felt the same wayas you Dory but it was nice. I'm not really a fan of german speaking.

Dory Neither am i a fan of their language, but the voices don't match the actors/characters. It sounds more like a pantomime than a movie.

Personally I didn't mind the dubbed voices, they weren't too bad.

I did. Also, sorry for the hate, but in the Rubinrot adaption nothing made sense. It was too fast paced and moved to quickly into the second book. Skipped alot. Like, one second he despises her and the next he would do anything for her... at least in the book it makes sense.

message 59: by Joelle (new) - added it

Joelle Naim I agree it did move quickly , they should have given the relationship between gwyneth and gideon time to grow stronger thoughout the movies like it did in the books

They didn't give it anytime. If i posted a poll here. 100% would say the book was better.

Rosalynn Last I heard, Sapphire Blue was coming out on dvd in March in Germany.

message 62: by Dory (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dory Ive heard the same @Rosalynn, when the DVD came out for Rubinrot, that's when it was out in English. So march it is.

Thebestofthebest1996 yep there is a movie it came out this august

message 64: by Dory (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dory We know that, but not in english, or at least english subs. Ive seen the german one in germany.

Laura The first two books were made into movies (you can watch the trailers) The original names are Rubinrot and Saphirblau (the third is Smaragdgrün)

Muse-ic ♬ Yeah it's in German and Gideon is GORGEOUS! They picked a really good-looking actor to play him :D

Books ar almost. Always better

Christina Danielle you can go onto tunemovie.com to see ruby red with an engligh voice over. it is actually pretty good and i think it wont be long before sapphire blue comes on.

Louise Yes, this book is turned into a movie. But because it's German, the movie is German too. I have seen Rubinrot (Rubyred) the movie. I found it on youtube in english, but it's removed. Now, Saffireblue the movie is turned in to a movie in December I think... I'm not sure really.

Marie Does anyone know where to find english subtitles for saphirblau? Also, is there going to be a movie 4 emerald green as well?(Please say yes!!) I love these books so much!!! <3

Ingo Does nobody read the old comments in the thread? So I will repeat myself:
the movie Rubinrot was released on DVD and Blu-ray with Audio in two languages: German and English. I just checked my German Blu-ray, it also has English (and German SDH) subtitles. The English language-track if you know what to listen for, is obviously most, if not all of the actors themselves, some with an obvious German accent, some not. Wether you like it or not, this can be bought, the price is reasonable, but shipping to USA or wherever might be expensive, just checked, it is 3 Eur per package + 3 Eur per kg (2 pounds). For a few DVD or Blu-ray or 1 that would be a reasonable 6 Eur, that is Us$ 7, with a Blu-ray add Us$ 11.77, so less than Us$ 19 it is, maybe even less due to VAT, and the DVD is even cheaper.

The version which was on youtube was a self-dubbed-version, and was probably taken down with a DMCA-notice.

And, as said before, Saphierblau is due to be released in Germany March 5th, 2015 and I did not check for other countries, but usually they release there at the same time or later, all other versions to be watched or torrented are probably bad telesyncs or cinema-handheld-filmed, so that would not be a good movie to watch, I think it is worth the wait for the proper release, where you get English Audio and Subtitles (for better or worse).

As for Emerald Green, I see no listing at the IMDB, but would be surprised, if it does not get filmed. Then again, they should have started already, imho. Hm, I guess we have to wait and see.

Saphirblau was already released in theaters, in august. If you are going to criticize these goodreaders, then you might as well get your facts right before you vent out. These readers are looking for an English version, which will most likely come out with the DVD release, which is March the 5th. People expected to find an English version earlier on since the Original, German audio was first theater released in august, December in Germany. August in Luxembourg and Austria.

Dani -The Spinal Stack There is a film in Germany, but the movie hasn't been translated yet.

She is right though. I created this topic already a long time ago and have already gotten my answers more than once.

I think I am going to make a trip to germany when the dvd comes out. Btw a trip to germany means about a one hour drive for me so it's not so far ;)

message 78: by Ana (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ana Coakley Well I guess we will all have to wait for March.... but on the bright side Emerald Green is confirmed to be a movie!!

Marie really? awesome!!

Thank you so much for the link!

I just watched the movie. The movie was fine, just not a good adaptation of the book. The soiree scene is really terrible..

I loved this scene. It was so cool to see them sing the song, even if it's not the same one that's in the book.

Joelle Naim I can't wait for the movie to become available online in english !!

Carys does anyone know if the english version is now online?

message 89: by Ingo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ingo In Germany the iTunes-Shop (rather expensive, I must say) only offers it in German. Don't know about USA or UK, often they publish it there even later.
There is a 21 GB Torrent, if your're up to it and you know what you're doing.
No, just checked the description, it says German language and Russian language. No english. Points to the source though.

As my Blu-ray should have been here yesterday, I hope for it to arrive today and that puts me off from trying other sources (which are not legal here anyway). So far DVD or Blu-ray import might be the only way to go until iTunes, Netflix or others offer it for you in your country.
When the Blu-ray arrives I will check it and leave the information here.

Ingo The mailman just gave me the package containing Saphirblau (and Maps to the Stars).

I am deeply sorry to report ... Concorde Video - RIP!
The same company that published the first part, Rubinrot, changed their language tracks. They put only two German-language tracks on the Blu-ray and as per the information given bei Amazon.De the DVD will most probably have the same tracks. The second track is the normal German track with added audio-description for blind people (and those who cannot see all).

So that means, first, no good source for a dubbed version. No english subtitles, either (only German, the SDH type, for the hard of hearing).

That also means, the chances to find a good english download just decreased to near Zero, you can hope for a fan-dubb and/or fan-subtitles, but given that these are in most countries not legal, and the movie-company or publishing-company might go after the people who leak that to the internet, it will be a high risk to publish that (higher, imho than offering a DVD or BR ripp).

As even as a German I would have liked to watch the movie once in German and then again in English, and I see no reason why they did not put the english language track on the BR, I will contact the company and complain. The room on the BR should be enough to put a third language track onto the BR. And if they want to promote the movie in other countries, it should have been dubbed for cinema already?!

message 91: by Ingo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ingo Just checked the IMDB, the movie has so far only been released in the following countries (for cinema):
Luxembourg 14 August 2014
Austria 15 August 2014
Germany 18 December 2014
Guessing that Luxembourg got no translation, watching the movie in German, maybe with self-made subtitles in French, there seems to be no version for English speaking countries published, which is a real shame, and given that the story takes place in the UK, I must wonder what they are thinking.

Ingo Contact information for Concorde Video

Please be polite if you complain to them, I wrote them in German both as a complaint and as a question wether they or some other company will publish a version with English Language Audio.
But I just hope, they also understand English.

Musicgurl8192 That's really too bad. I actually loved the first movie dubbed in english. I guess I'll settle for just german, then. :/

I watched the film first too, then read all the books because I loved the movie(this was all a year ago). I actually watched the film again yesterday.

message 96: by Ingo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ingo Wow!
Just received mail: I got a pretty fast and good response from Concorde Home Entertainment.
They say, that they are not a big studio, but rather an Independent Publisher and therefore they are bound to license restrictions. They license the language they need and sometimes they can license the language (english) in which the film was produced. But they cannot just pay more money for more languages.
They are bound by mostly legal restrictions, the big publishers (Sony, Fox, Disney, Warner) have worldwide service for distribution, and can act differently.
The rest of the text is more of the same, "complicated field of license and copyright" etc. You get the gist from my translation, I hope.

Which does not answer the question, wether the movie was dubbed in english for the english market.

Isabelle Arné I know it's not that legal but I would love even an English Fansub ... I don't understand why this movies aren't released in other countries !
I mean Everyone I know who has seen Rubinrot is craving for Saphirblau ! But It's not going to be in French theaters anytime soon !
We are like the country next door and we can't even have this movie ! I am sure it will be successful enough

Stéphanie @isabelle + everyone else

I don't see the problem. im sure english subtitles will be available in the future for this movie . why does it have to be dubbed? I live in the Netherlands, and only the kid shows get dubbed because they are for an audience that cant always read. im pretty used to hearing a different language thab my own on the tv, its how I learned to speak English.

I would be happy with just english subtitles! Just to understand the story more, and because it may help my german.

Isabelle Arné me too I watched Rubinrot in German with english subs, and will be glad to do the same with Saphirblau ! I was never a fan of dubbs anyway, I like the ear the voice and the acting work of the orignal actor
