He walked back in and sat on his bed looking around," thank you for helping me." He said

He looked at her," you know I don't know what happens at your house but if you ever need a place to stay you can come here."
He nodded a little," come on let's go see if lunch is ready." He got up and offered her his hand
She nodded and took it, smiling.
He smiled and lead her back downstairs," hey Gran is it time to eat?""Yes I was just coming to get you." She called
"Go sit down you two." She told them smiling a little when she saw their hands. Nick pulled her into the living room with him.
Gran put two places down in front of them each had a sandwich and some tomato soup."Thank you." Nick said after he sat next to Stacey
Stacey dipped her sandwich in the soup.
Nick started eating the sandwich dipping it in his soup every once in a while
she ate her food and smiled back.
He finished before she did and sat back in his chair
"Now what would you like to do?"
She sighed, "Would you like to come to my place?" Her brother would be out fighting and her mom was sweet.
He looked over at her," sure if you want me to." He said softly
"You showed me yours, I should show you mine."
He shrugged, "Yeah I guess but I made you work."
She shrugged, "I doubt anyone will be around. It's fine, really."
She stood up and extended her hand.
She led him back through the woods towards her house.
He followed her through the woods
She peeked inside to make sure no one was there before showing him into her spotless but still somehow dismal house.
He stood behind her waiting as she checked her house. he walked in and was surprised at how clean her house was but it somehow looked sad
"So, um, welcome to my house," she smiled. There were four bookshelves, just in the main room, filled with her books.
He smiled at her,"It's nice." he said looking at all the bookshelves
She smiled, "thanks. You want to go downstairs? I have a pool table down there."
He nodded, "Yeah we can do that."
She had to kick some of her brother's trash out of the way because she rarely came down here, "Mind shutting the door behind you?"
"No I can do that" he said closing the door and walking down the stairs
She walked over to the pool table and set up a game.
She went and balls went everywhere.
He raised his eyebrows, "How come I get the feeling you will kick my butt."
