Grace left the roomNick sat on the floor by her.
She sighed, "How will it ever heal with Carl around?"
He shrugged a little," I don't know."'
"Do you think whatever she gives be will still help if I'm stuck fighting him?"
"I think so, but I really don't know.... I would think so." He said shrugging."
She rubbed her eyes, "He's worse every night. He's been drunking more. Nick, I'm scared if I stay, but more scared if I don't."
Nick frowned," I don't know what to tell you.. I don't like what he does to you and I don't want you to go back home."
"But if I don't he'll come after me. Anyone I'm with will be at risk. He'd burn down towns on both sides until he finds me. Torturing me is his hobby. He won't let me leave." She was sobbing.
Nick frowned and got up to sit beside her," hey we'll think of something before too long" he said hugging her gently
She cried into his shoulder and it made her stimach hurt.
He rubbed her back gently," Shhh.... It fine we'll figure it out."
"What does sweetheart?" He asked
"My stomach. My bones. Everything but most of all my stomach."
"I'm sorry I wish I could help you somehow," he said looking down at her
She asked, "What time is it?"
"Almost time for you to go." He said
She sighed. She hated going home.
She whispered, "Can...can I eat something before I go?"
He nodded," Of course you can." He said moving away from her," What do you want?" He asked softly
"Alright... Then let's go see what there is." He said getting up taking her ham
"Are you sure?" He asked leading her to the kitchen
"Alright what do you want?" He asked opening the fridge
He nodded," Alrght. Anything special on it?"
"Okay." He said getting the stuff out to make the sandwich
He handed her a plate and smiled a little
She ate quickly, waiting for his grandmother to come out with the ointment.
Grace came back with a tube of cream
"Thank you. I'm such a clutz," she smiled gently.
"It's fine come back in a few days."
She nodded and sighed, "I have to go home."
