I think the right way to write it and pronounce it in English is Alcmene (ahl-KMEE-nee). She was the mother of Herakles (Hercules) in Greek Mythology :)

I never really officially introduced myself. My name is Elizabeth, but friends and family call me Beth. I might be one of the older people in the group from the way it sounds (not sure). But that doesn't matter to me anyhow. I am in love with Christ, have devoted myself to the single life, and am in the process of becoming a member of the Community of Passionist Partners (CPP), which is a group associated with the Passionist Order of nuns & priests (I'm Catholic).
