"Looks like I'm going to be borrowing a lot of your books", Eden smiled and raised her eyebrows. She looked at the shelf of books and then sat next to Eric, she looked at him and said," Thank you, again, for everything".

He smiled, glad to know that she read. Girls who read are really attractive, he thought. "I should be thanking you. I feel better than I have in months, thanks to you. How do you do it?'
Eden gave him a humorous big headed look, she grossed her leg over the other and said," It's my specialty". The she laughed and became herself again, she shrugged and said," To be honest, I have no idea. I just blurt out stuff and people feel good".
Eric laughed. "You should be my personal psychiatrist. goodness knows I need it." He grabbed her hand, hoping he wasn't crossing a line, and looked into her beautiful, deep green eyes. "But seriously. Thank you."
Edens face turned a light pink and her heart stopped for a moment. He was holding her hand and looking intensely at her, what was she supposed to do? Lean in? Walk away? She was so confused. All she did was smile and say," That's okay, I don't mind".
He gave her hand a squeeze and let go. He stood up and walked over to the bookshelf to mask his nervous and flustered attitude. Why did he feel like this? He hardly knew this girl. But they had talked about a lot of hard things in the time they'd known each other. And he couldn't erase from his mind the look on her face when he grabbed her hand. Panic. He felt so confused.
What the hell was wrong with her? She felt like her heart was pounding so hard that any minute now it would rip tear out of her chest. She looked down and then looked at the back of Eric, he pulled away, so he must have just meant it in a friendly way. Oh why was she even thinking about this? She shook her head out and then lay down on his bed," Your bed is comfy too".
Eric turned around and walked back to his bed. He was just overreacting. He laid on the bed next to her. "My bed is awesome. It's like sleeping on... Something really comfortable. Like my bed. I'm not good at similes..."
"It's like sleeping on bags of feathers", Eden sighed. She closed her eyes and let the smell and aura around her become her, she turned her head and let it be. She felt Eric fall down next to her and stay there, she felt his thigh next to hers.
"Yeah. Kinda like that." He closed his eyes and enjoyed the comfortable silence that came after. She was warm next to him and he felt utterly relaxed. For the millionth time since they'd met, he hoped that they could become friends.
Eden opened her eyes and looked aside to Eric," So I'm still shocked you're not the popular kid, you know the typical jock or heartthrob whose in that awesome band?". She looked at him and raised her eyebrows suggestively, she laughed and then smiled.
Eric laughed. "I hate those people. And I will never be one. I'm actually kinda a loner. I play soccer, but that's it. And I can't carry a tune to save my life."
Eden laughed and smiled," Don't worry, we can be loners together. I kind of hate stereotypes and all that". Then Eden sat up, her hair flowing down her back and having a natural volumed look. She looked back at him and said," I know how to play piano, guitar, violin and the harp. I can teach you one of them if you want".
Eric laughed and sat up. "Actually..." He walked over to his closet and pulled out a guitar ((http://www.acousticvibesmusic.com/cat...)). "I've had this for a while. I know a few basic chords but I'm not very good. My mom bought it for me thinking I'd be as good as she is, that's why she spent so much." He handed it over to her.
"Sweet, nice guitar", she stated, she took the guitar and placed it perfectly on her knee. She leaned on it and started to play a few chords, it sounded lovely, soft and melodious. She loved hearing the chords being played, she closed her eyes and repeated the chords, a smile on her face.
Eric smiled to see her playing his guitar. She looked so beautiful and he sat down next to her as she plucked out a few songs that he recognized. She was very skilled, much better than the C, G, E minor and D chords that made up most of the songs he knew.
Eden opened her eyes to see Eric near her and smiling, he looked so handsome. He looked happy. She slowly ended the song she was playing and looked at him," Your guitar is so beautiful". She loved it, it seemed to do everything right.
"You're beautiful." He said without really thinking. It just slipped out. After he realized what he said, he felt his face getting hot
Eden looked up suddenly from the guitar and looked at Eric, she gulped down her nervousness and fear. She finally plucked out the words," T-thank you". Really? That's all she could say!? She felt her heart beating faster and her palms become slightly sweaty. She hurriedly took the guitar away from her and lay it on the bed.
Eric groaned inwardly. He needed to stop. She obviously didn't feel comfortable around him. But he didn't understand what he did wrong. It was a simple compliment, really. Unable to stand her look of fear, he stood up, walked over to the bookshelf, grabbed John Green's The Fault In Our Stars and turned around. "Have you read this?"
Oh god! Did she make him misunderstand her? She liked the compliment. But there was no reasoning now. She got up and met him half way, she looked up at him with a smile and nodded," I love that book". She looked at him and grinned, excited," Okay". The characters in the book always said Okay to each other, which she found cute.
He smiled at her, glad to see that her confusing emotions dissipated. "Okay," he smiled. They were standing kind of close and she smelled amazing, like warm vanilla. "Can I tell a secret? I cried when I read this. Don't tell anyone because if you do I won't seem so manly."
Eden laughed gently, she looked into his eyes and said," You're secret is safe with me". She did a gesture of zipping her mouth shut and throwing away the key. She knew that they were kind of close, which made her face turn a light pink.
He grinned at her, "I figured I could trust you." He leaned a little closer to her, not sure of his intentions were when his door opened and Lela peeked around, still half asleep. "Eric? I had a bad dream." Immediately, he rushed over to her and picked her up.
Eden felt them drawing into each other, she wanted to kiss him so bad! But suddenly she stepped back and looked over at Lela, she smiled and then said," Aw sweetie". Nightmares sucked, especially at that age, where you actually believed it.
Lela laid her head on Eric's shoulder and rubbed her eyes. Eric leaned towards Eden and whispered, "She usually sleeps a lot longer. I'm going to see if I can get her to go back to sleep." He got on his bed and leaned back against the pillows with Lela curled up next to him. "Eric what if I have another nightmare?" He stroked Lela's soft cheek. "You won't. I'll protect you."
Eden nodded, she kept quiet and sat down somewhere. She looked at the two and smiled slightly, they were so cute. Eric seemed like such a sweet brother, and Lela a kind little girl.
Eric stroked Lela's hair until she was breathing deeply. He quietly slid out of his bed, put a finger to his lips and opened the door for Eden. "She likes sleeping in my bed," Eric said shyly.
Eden got up quickly and soundlessly, she nodded and let Eric let her out. "That's really sweet, what you did was sweet too", Eden said quietly.
Eric smiled, "I'm trying to be the best big brother, and I love her more than anything." He led the way downstairs to the basement. He sat on the couch and grabbed a remote. "Want to watch anything?" He motioned to their 52" television.
Eden followed him down and smiled along the way," That's really cool, big brother Eric", she teased slightly. She sat next to him and shrugged," Is there anything you usually watch, movies or tv shows?". She sat back but still looked at him. ((Sorry!))
He shrugged, "I like How I Met Your Mother. Also Doctor Who. I'm pretty good with most anything." He looked at her, "So what do you want to watch?"
((It's okay!:]))
((It's okay!:]))
Eden made a disgusted face and then shook her head," Not Doctor Who!", she laughed and then smiled. She looked at him and said," I watch a lot of stuff: Vampire Diaries, 90210, The Carrie Diaries...". She left it at that because the list was endless.
"I've heard of Vampire Diaries and 90210, but not The Carrie Diaries. What about Psych? Or NCIS?"
Eden shook her head," Never heard of Psych, sorry". She smiled, she already seemed to have one friend at her high school and he was extremely nice. She looked to the tv and then back to him," Any movies on?".
"Well ABC always has a Harry Potter marathon going on. Do you like Harry Potter?" He hoped so.
"Yes Harry potter!", Eden exclaimed, she grinned and then turned around to the tv. She looked at the time briefly but dismissed it as it wasn't late at all. She looked aside to him and said," Im still waiting for my invitation to Hogwarts".
Eric grinned, she passed the test and there was no doubt of how attract to her he was. He grabbed the remote and flipped to the correct channel where The Prisoner of Azkaban was playing, "So am I. I can use magic outside of Hogwarts, but I don't even have my letter yet."
"I think they must forget us, you know there's so many students", she said, playing along and grinning. She watched the movie with a wide eyed expression that made herself look intrigued and wanting.
"It doesn't help that we're Americans, the school here must not be as up to date on their lists." She was amazing! Playing right along with him. He settled back happily as they watched the movie.
Eden nodded along, trying not to laugh or giggle. "Stupid Americans", she muttered in a English accent. She sneaked a look at him and then went back to watching the movie with a smirk on her face. As the movie went on Eden slowly edged closer to Eric without realising, her head had somehow ended up on his shoulder.
Eric smiled as Eden curled up next to him. He laid his head on hers and laced his fingers through hers. He felt so content it was unbelievable. He never felt like this.
Eden couldn't pay attention to half the film, his fingers and hers were together and they were so close. She tried to think about the film, she tried to watch it but it wasn't working. She looked at the time and looked aside to Eric," I should probably go, my mum said not to stay too long".
Reluctantly, Eric let go of her hand and stood up, holding out a hand to pull her up. "Want to check on Lela with me before you go?" He asked hopefully. He wasn't ready for her to leave just yet.
Eden couldn't help but to take his hand, smile and nod. Why was she being like this? She was never ever like this when she moved and first met someone. "Of course I'll look to see if she's okay", she said softly.
He smiled like an idiot and led her up to his room. Lela was still asleep. He looked at the clock on his nightstand, it was almost four. "I should wake her up." He whispered. He strode to his bed and sat at the edge, gently shaking Lela.
Eden watched as Eric slowly went to Lela and woke her up gently, easing her into it. Eden stayed near the door, leaning against it and watching with a smile on her face.
Lela held her arms up and Eric bent down so she could wrap them around his neck. He walked back to Eden and whispered in Lela's ear. "Thank you for coming over even if we didn't get to play." She addressed Eden.
