Laura | 500 comments So what did you think about Flat Out Love? Did you love it, hate it, or something in between?

Megan (meganscoils) | 51 comments I read this book before it was the BOTH (book of the month) and I really did not like it. I was really curious about Celeste and why Flat Finn was so important to her more than anything else. I think it was a little obvious as to where the story line between Finn and Julie. When Flat Out Matt was on sale for 99¢ I kind of wanted to buy it, but then I thought about how I did not love this one that much. (view spoiler)

I do like how you can see the way the family loves each other (the accepting of Flat Finn), and the storyline of the parents and why the mom doesn't drive etc.

Question: Does anyone remember why Celeste does not like to go out in public? (view spoiler)

Katelyn Broad (katelynb) I loved it! I read it a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I like how it's actually different than other new adult books, and it was also nice to read about a nice guy as opposed to the fighters/alphas/hot-tempered guys I tend to read about.
This is one of my favorites! I also loved Flat-Out Matt! :)

Michelle (msmeesh) | 39 comments Loved it!! So happy that I bought this book in paperback.. It is one of my favorites!!.. I love how quirky, fun, and heartwarming this book is.

Sashoy (sashwilson) | 55 comments I didn't like it. The writing style was not to my liking. I didn't like the third person narration or that most sentences started with Julie did this...etc. To me the story line was predictable plus I just couldn't stand to read anymore narration of the characters thoughts and movements.

To be fair I didn't get very far so it might actually be a really good read

Cathy Lin I like the book because guys are different. Not bad boy, sports kind, rock star, or movie star. Just normal ppl. I like flat out Matt more. Do you have any recommendation on nerdy or normal boys?

I think she didn't like going out b/c she knew it was "weird" for her to have Flat Finn. She was socially outcast & I think she cared but not enough to change who she was.

Donna | 24 comments I LOVED Flat Out Love. I don't know why it took me so long to read it, either. I thought it was well written and a well thought out book. The characters were wonderful. I fell in love with all of them so when things "changed," I was also heartbroken, hurt and more than a little surprised. Such a great book!

Yael (navygal) | 7 comments I really enjoyed this book, the characters are all so "different". This story really has depth & deals with something other than abuse which a lot of books today are known for. The facebook statuses were fun to try & understand sometimes.

Nicola Hudson I read it a few months ago and LOVED it. I like the geekery of Matt, the FB status updates etc...but that probably says as much about me as the writing!

In a category where there are many similar plotlines and character types, it was refreshing to read something different.

I felt the same! I loved that there was family drama mixed in and it wasn't all angsty romance, and I love the good guys, so Matt was my kind of hero.

Laura I loved that the hero Matt was more of a normal guy than you usually find in NA. At face value, Finn seems like the cool one and Matt, the geek. But this book shows that heroes can be both. I fell in love with Matt in this book and more so in Flat Out Matt. I would love to read more books with characters like this.

valeria | 51 comments I really enjoyed this book

Ileana | 1 comments I read the book and really liked it.... I thought it was different from what I've been reading.....

Ashley Claudy (ashleyclaudy) | 46 comments I didn't finish the book, it just didn't pull me in in the I need to keep reading way. To be fair though the ending was spoiled for me so I didn't feel the mystery around Fin, it just made me sad.

I also didn't click with the main character, I thought she seemed a little stuck up and above everything ( I didn't like the way she talked about her past friends and not wanting to show them she was smart... it annoyed me)

Also the status updates seemed obnoxious and a little pretentious. It just missed the mark for me.

But maybe it just wasn't a good fit for what I wanted to read at the moment. Maybe it's something I will have to pick back up in the future.

Jessica | 13 comments Just finished this book. I ddidn't know if I would like it. At first I wanted it to go a certin way and I am glad it didn't. I knew the secret, but like Julie I could not bring myself to accept it. I loved that there was banter that kept me turning the page and had me hoping for more. There are few books that I have read that have this kind of witty dialoge. It is up lifting and makes me smile. This book I will read this book again for sure. I love books that I can read more then once. I Can't wait to read Flat Out Matt.

Doris I really enjoyed Flat-Out Love. I think it's very original. I loved how great Julie was with Celeste. I enjoyed her interactions with Matt as well. She brought out the fun side of him. Definitely one of my favorite YA novels.
