Hey everyone! Just letting you know that I'll be going on hiatus very soon. Exams are coming up fast, not to mention I joined a fast-moving roleplay group on Tumblr (which I'll be eliminated from if I'm away for more than a week). I'll still pop in every now and then but any replies will be short.
OK! I'm totally fine with that. I feel like an idiot whenever you post something that looks suspiciously like an essay on pokemon. XD

R-really? Oh my gosh, I feel like... Senpai-noticed-me, sort of thing! For both of you!The sprites aren't really that hard! Especially since they're largely based on the style from Danganronpa:
See the resemblance? {Sorry if you can't see them, Vanilla!} It's just a matter of designing a character and then drawing over the base sprite. I use a tablet and firealpaca to draw them. There's a million tutorials running around, too!
The writing is just experience. I've been roleplaying for about 5 years, now – Rinka's been in the works for about 2 months. I just know how to expand what I'm trying to say, I guess? Instead of "she ran over" I write "Rinka made her way towards the girls, heels clicking on the tiles" sort of thing. Idk

Continuing on about sprites, I'm actually in the process of redesigning all of Rinka's talksprites. All of them. That's about 30+ sprites. It's part of the reason why I'm going on hiatus, actually. I don't like her outfit; I actually prefer her "mastermind" (an alternate, evil version) design to her normal one, which is a bit of a problem:

My style has changed so much over the course of a month or so, and it's become a little annoying to have to go back and resprite old images.
Sorry to spam the thread with pictures, but I've been needing to rant about that for a while now. Hopefully at least one of you will understand what I'm getting at?

I just thought of something that should be added to the games. In the games, the character doesn't leave the town until they get a Pokemon because it's too dangerous. That implies that no one can leave without a Pokemon. Sure, they can act like Wally and get a zigzagoon from the gym leader in the next city, but that's not strong enough depending where you go. My idea was this, wouldn't it be cool if, after defeating the Pokemon league, townspeople would ask you to catch certain Pokemon for them? Like, you get a call on your pokegear, pokenav, etc. from your mom or another character who says, "my friend needs to visit his sick grandmother in *farawaycity*. Could you bring him a level 30+ Fearow with Fly?" The best part is, in exchange, we could get cool stuff like rare items or money or whatnot.

Yeah, but that only happens once in every game, just about. This could be a continuous thing. I mean. Imagine you want to go against the elite four, but you blew all your money the first few times you beat them. You can't face any trainers, because you already faced them to train your Pokemon for the league. How are you going to get money? With a feature like this, you'll have another income source. Also, did you hear about Super-Secret Bases for the new games? I can't wait.
What are you going to do when you're out of money, but you aren't close to finishing the game? With a system like this, you'd never have to worry about running out of money. That's what I'm saying.
That actually sounds like a great idea, like some sort of sidequest. I've seen it in fangames and demos before, but instead of getting a call, people sit in the Pokemon Centre and if you talk to them, you can choose to take up their quest!And they don't do it in the games yet. That's another sort of sidequest. For example, if someone wants to see a really small Pokemon, and you show them, say, a Goomy, they'll give you an item, and then usually you can show them another small Pokemon the next day and so on.
I'm so excited for the Super-Secret Bases. Apparently you can literally make your own gym of-sorts!
