That sounds interesting. Let us know what you thought of it when you're done.

Not sure if I'll get around to reading it any time soon, but I will definitely let you know.

Yes and no. It's a play on superman. I get what the author is doing kinda. Think of it as a "Elseworld" novel.
Well my copy of Firefight by Brandon Sanderson arrived today. I got the US edition as it actually worked out cheaper to get to Ireland and it's a nicer cover and my copy of Steelheart is also a US edition.
I also bought a signed copy of Scott Lynch Republic of Thieves as it was too much of a bargain to pass up

And just got the audio of Redshirts

Also, my friend bought me Clockwork Angel for Christmas, but I haven't started that one yet.

RINNRINNRINN!!! They had hardback AND paperback copies! Are you back in the Netherlands? If not, get down to Poundland or send someone to get it! I would but I am not sure when I am next going to the shops otherwise I'll get you a copy :)

Very nice!
Oh,

Spent the afternoon in Waterstones cafe and this time didn't resist the drink, cake and book offer. Station Eleven has been purchased.
I'm still not sure this book will be my cup of tea but I'm gunna give it a bash once I'm done with Firefight.

My local Waterstones has a café which does a hot drink, cake and fiction book of the month for £10 :D
This month it just so happens it's Station Eleven! :)

I just got myself Words of Radiance audiobook companion from Amazon - I have the kindle book which I'm 70% through, but I've not found the time to sit down and finish the rest. This allows me to Whispersync so I can do what I want (listen or read) when I feel like it!
I didn't buy it, but I received a copy of Firefight by Brandon Sanderson in the post from Gollancz today - what perfect timing :D
I got Red Seas Under Red Skies in the post as well as The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe which I'm reading as part of a classics reads challenge.
Nice timing on Firefight. I was going to start it myself but I'll the Name of the Wind buddy read first.

Abrea, I've given up, they are piled up on the floor until I can get a bigger place or somewhere with more bookcases!
Kirsty, that's awesome! I know that some Waterstones have cafés but I don't think I've ever used one (don't think there's one with café here either) and I didn't know there was a book, bake and brew deal :) Next time!
Rinn, that is brilliant! I haven't started that series yet :)

It's normally a Costa attached to Waterstones, right? I've spent many a time in the one in Cheltenham with my new book purchases...
Our one used to be a costa - but now it's "Waterstones cafe" - you can still collect your points and stamps if you spend enough, plus a drink stamp card!

Went on a small book spree today and bought The Wise Mans Fear by Rothfuss and The Three Stugmata of Palmer Eldritch by Philip K Dick. 8 euro all together so happy with that ☺
Wise Mans Fear was second hand but looks new. Philip K Dick was new and on special but it was the only one I didn't have in the special.
I don't know . I've read two big Epic fantasys in the last few weeks so I might leave it a little while . I think my next book up will be Over To You by Roald Dahl. Its the first book he published (1946) and is a series of flying war stories . I found a first edition a few years back and i've finally decided to read it ( possibly with gloves ☺)

Or intending to go back at some point Paul?
I got a copy of Steelheart which looks like it may have only been read once, and Leviathan Wakes, both from a charity shop. Trying to catch up eventually with all the previous BotMs I haven't read yet :)

I just bought Lord Brocktree and Martin the Warrior(buy one get one half price) in an ebay shop. Returning to childhood! £4 for the both.
