Gardens of the Moon

Normally I wouldn't but more than one of a series until I read at least the first one, in case I don't like it, but for 25 cents a piece I was willing to take the chance!
And I got the notification that my pre-order of Age of Myth has shipped! :)

Exactly. I was very happy!

I got the email notification yesterday afternoon. Hopefully you'll get yours soon!
I just picked up a like new hardback of Goth Girl, purple bound too for £1, and also Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo for £1, and The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle for Ivy for 50p all at my local charity shop. Very happy!
I bought Every Heart a Doorway and Rise: A Newsflesh Collection and will go tonight to see her and get them autographed!

I'm looking forward to it, even though it starts at 7:30 on a work night 45 minutes from home. LOL I've never met her either. I may also pick up Sarah Kuhn's Heroine Complex as she'll be there too!

My autographed "Age of Myth" arrived! I never got a shipping confirmation e-mail, and I was out of town for the weekend, but it was here when I got back last night. It's very pretty.

Now, where to find room on the bookshelf ...

Went to the used bookstore to get books for my cousin, I bought him 1 and myself 4. ._.
Shaman's Crossing
Heart-Shaped Box
Horns
(Both of the Joe Hill books were pristine hardcovers.)
The last one Sir Lancer will be proud of:

I was hoping my review of the first book would be quoted as it's on Angry Robot's website under their favourite reviews of the book, but alas, it is not! :( http://angryrobotbooks.com/2015/07/ti...
I really enjoyed that series Hybrid, it's different than a lot of "epic" fantasy and it takes a bit to get going but I found it very rewarding by the end of the five books. Also has one of my favourite female characters in it.

When I saw it and it was only $1, I knew you'd put a curse on me if I didn't buy it.

Hybrid, I'm not really a curse guy, but I may have constructed someone to leave a bag of flaming dog doo on your doorstep.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child just arrived! YAY! Gotta wait and see if I can get tickets for the theatre production (more go on sale on 4th Aug) before deciding whether to read it though...

Yes! I have it too! I was going to wait for the 'official' version, but it was staring at me in the shop, so I just had to get it... :P
I really want to get some tickets, but I am in work on the 4th so it will probably be really awkward to try and get some, though I will give it ago.

My husband and I have been known to end up at the bookstore on date night. :-)

To be fair, we also went in a pub and attended a concert. With bags of books... :)

This is a GREAT book! I read it years ago and still think about it.
I got Requiem for a Rogue in a charity shop, as well as no.1 issue of a Sci-Fi magazine called Rigel from 1981 - it looked too awesome not to pick up.
Took books to the charity shop... came back with more: Lock In, Gardens of the Moon, An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth and The Teleportation Accident.

Some good books Rinn, I really liked Lock In and GOTM is a lot of book but it's good.

I'm reading Lock In now. It's my first Scalzi book and it's been a pretty smooth and enjoyable read so far (just over the halfway mark).
My reading has taken a bit of a back seat lately since I have had a more than off (I know it's opposite for many). For me time off is video game time and I took the opportunity to play through the Mass Effect trilogy again and since Deus Ex: Manning Divided comes out on the 23rd I am going to try and get as much of it done before school restarts. So no new books lately.
The Eyre Affair, Tomorrow the Killing and Black Athena: Afroasiatic Roots of Classical Civilization, Vol. 1: The Fabrication of Ancient Greece, 1785-1985.
I've also been gaming, lots of No Man's Sky :D

I enjoyed The Eyre Affair Rinn!
I enjoyed the series but wish he'd finish up the other series he started. He pissed me right off stopping dead on the Nursery Crimes and Shades of Grey series, with promised books disappearing. He's even worse than GRRM and Pat Rothfuss in that he promoises books then doesn't even bother

That's true Paul - it seems like the next installment of the Shades of Grey series will never arrive. Are there still only two books in the Nursery Crimes series? I think so. It would be nice if Fforde didn't kick off so many series and leave them hanging.
But Margo, I definitely find his books great fun too - I don't think there's a single one I haven't enjoyed yet, and I've read several!
