I'm Sam, I read a wide range of books depending on my mood. I also listen to audiobooks although mainly do this whilst at work. I look after a friends baby 4 days a week and have also begun the process to become a foster carer so my challenge to read 100 books this year may become more difficult!

My passions include my husband, my church, my family, my animals, and singing chamber music.
Admittedly, I'm not well versed in poetry, after a lengthy study of the poem Song of Myself by Walt Whitman, I found it to be one of the most interesting ( and perplexing) things I've ever read.
As I am recovering from surgery, I will post as I can. Look forward to participating when possible.

I am so glad you are in remission! I hope and pray you stay that way! Welcome back to reading! I like you have read all my life and wouldn't know what to do with myself if I did not have a book in my purse a book in my car, a book in the bathroom and book at my desk and heaven forbid I not have a book on my night stand!
Happy Reading this year!
Sarah

I don't have a particular genre to read as I love all sorts of books, like I love Charles Dickens to Stephen King, autobiographies and just loads of different books to be honest, if the blurb interests me I'll read it basically :)
Vikki

You will love Catching Fire and all her other books. Have you seen the movies yet? They are really great too!
Enjoy!
Sarah

I'm Ayelén, new in the group. I'm 23 years old and I'm from Argentina.
I love to read all kind of books, my fav author is Nicholas Sparks, I love the way he writes and describes people and places, situations, and of course I love the love stories, even more if they can make me cry, and they do!
Well I hope to talk to all of you and share our opinion of different books.

I'm hoping to read a good mix of classics and new books in this years' 2014 Reading Challenge. Good luck to everyone and nice to meet you!

I don't blame you and please don't! Can't wait to hear what you think when you do! Let me know!
Sarah

Don't worry I won't, I have a thing about needing to read the book before the film! I was the same with the first one and any other book to film
Vikki

I am doing my thesis on The Catcher In The Rye, Breaking the Code. I love to crochet lace for lingerie and listen to classics. I'm 50.

I'm the same, I haven't been able to see Catching Fire because I wanted to read the whole series first. Although that said, I'm not big on film anyway. I'm reading "Mockingjay', and it's great so far :D

@Cosmic, that's awesome and sounds really interesting! I love The Catcher in the Rye.

Hi Valerie! And the Mountains Echoed is this month's group read! Feel free to check out the discussions if you haven't already - the threads are split up by chapters so you don't have to worry about spoilers :]

Hello, Kirsten and welcome! I live in the Northeastern US too. Getting quite a bit of snow where I am for the past hour or two. Hope you enjoy the group :]

Hello and welcome Ayelén! I have always wanted to visit Argentina SO badly and hope to some day soon. I have only been to Ecuador in South America, and I absolutely loved it.
I hear amazing things about Nicholas Sparks and have not read any of his books. I am thinking of reading Stardust soon. I hope you enjoy the group - feel free to participate in any book discussions!

Hello Jave! See above^ I've also always wanted to visit Chile SO badly and hope to some time soon!! How do you like being an English teacher? I am a linguaphile and have taken courses in a bunch of different foreign languages and taught myself some others. I've always thought about maybe teaching English some day for a time. Anyway, welcome and have fun!

Hello Wajeha! My parents visited Dubai, U.A.E. and they really liked it. How do you like living there? Yet another place I've always wanted to visit!
Gabriel García Márquez and Khaled Hosseini are two of my favorite authors, too. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy our group!

look forward to booky chats xx

I'm new here. I used to read a lot when I was younger and I just stopped. I'm starting up again. I'm also thrilled to be a part of a book club.

My suggestion to non fiction would be My Several World's byPearl S Buck. Or Hare with Amber Eyes which is non fiction anda bit of German history.
I would love to have a couple books to put on my book shelf from you.
Welcome to the group,
Cosmic

Sarah

Currently I am on my third book of the challenge, Ken Follet's World Without End.

Hi Cosmic, Hello Cosmic,
that I lot for your suggestion, when I was in middle school I read a collection from Short Stories written by Pearl Buck, I really liked them all. Great suggestion I definitely will read My several worlds. Hare with Ambers eyes sounds also interesting, I will put also on my list. What kind of books you like?

Thanks Sarah, I live in southern Germany in a city called Ulm, but I travel every day to Stuttgart where I work. I recently reread Winnie the Pooh, I think is one of my favorite, is a great novel for kids and grownups. I wish you the best of Luck with the publishing of your books.

I like classics. Right now I am reading books that are about the times between 1900 and 1950. Could you suggest a German classic that covers that time period. It can be anything that reflects how people were thinking or struggling with. It can be fiction or nonfiction or one of both.

I'm Vic (short for Vicky) :)
I'm 19. I love to read books. :)))) Any genre but I just realized how fond I am to dystopian fictions. :))) I want to have friends who share the same hobby as mine. :D
