Introduce Yourself to the Group!

Welcome, Meryl! I think you find many kindred spirits in our group and lots of new ideas on what to read next! Good luck!

Welcome to the group, Kristin! I think you will find it to be a great group of folks!

Welcome to the group, Santhosh! What kind of books do you like to read?

I am Shubham.
I love reading a lot. But didn't have access to good books when I was a kid.
Have started reading again to compensate for that.

I am Amanda. I love to read any chance I get, usually when I am not working or playing with my two dogs.

Welcome, Shubhan! You will find lots of great books to read here! I love to scan the challenge lists and reading corners of others to get new ideas!

Welcome Amanda! One of my favorite things about this group is that there is no pressure - it is all about enjoying what we read and motivating ourselves!

I am a biologist/molecular biologist so I love to read science type books....but I also love to read in general and I read all sorts of books, that tickle my fancy.
I have already read the time traveler's wife when it first came out but I have been wanting to read November's assignment for a little while now.
Looking forward to participating!

This year was my first year to try the Reading Challenge and I opted for a conservative 50 books. I have more than met that goal. Next year I will probably try for 100 books.
I am a reviewer for several authors, but I usually buy their books, so that I can truly give an honest review.
I love romances and they must have a HEA.
" " paranormal/fantasies, but not ghouls/zombies. I will read some vampire books.
" " erotic literature now that I am older.
" " menage stories, whether they are MF, MFM, or more. " " menages that include Bisexual couples as long as
a female is part of the grouping.
" " BDSM
" " Sci-Fi
" " time-travel or westerns.
" " Regency period or earlier romances.. and they do
not all have to take place in the UK.
" " modern romances with a strong heroine and an alpha
male.
" " Gaelic stories both modern and old.
Time travel,
westerns, but not 'old' stories that take place
post Queen Victoria.
No steampunk, please.
Any review that says that I will need tissues because it is very sad, even in some places, I will not read. Life presents too many opportunities for sadness and tears. I look to my reading for happy escapism. I will not read terror or murder mysteries, for the same reason.
We often do not watch the nightly news as my husband refers to as the 'murder and mayhem' hour. We both think that much more time should be spent on what is right with our country and world. It would make a better model for our young folks to emulate.
Right now, I seem to be reading a lot of rock band stories and some of them are so good, that I am rereading them! Imagine me, a grandmother reading about rock bands. I used to go to symphonies, ballet, and opera, and never attended a rock concert.
Well, that is a good intro into what I like to read. Chat with you all, soon,
susan

Welcome Susan! I'm living with a non-reader as well so I know how that feels! Also, I loved pretty much everything in your post and am looking forward to seeing you around our great little group!
Welcome Veronica! We're glad to have ya!

I will read anything, and I have become more interested in experimenting with that in the past year or so. I also enjoy music, TV, movies, video games, and history. Basically, I like anything that will give me a good story, good characters, good art, or good emotions. I'm happy to experiment in my taste in any of these, I have an urge to experience everything.
I currently work for an ISP, attend a college course online, and volunteer for the local library, which unfortunately does not leave me with as much free time for reading as I have always been accustomed to.
I have a goal of 50 and I'm a bit behind (three books) but I shouldn't have too much of a problem hitting that before the year is out.

Debi

Welcome to the group, Debi! We will definitely be advancing into 2016, so no worries:)

Welcome Debi! 2016 is coming soon and the mods always do a great job of turning us over into the new year. I'm sure we'll be seeing new things very soon. And hey, bring on that sense of humor, 'sick' or otherwise! ;D

I am 31 and have 2 girls- Aviana (8 years old) and Ilyra (5 years old). I have never done a thing like this, chat rooms and such, so I am looking forward to learning new things.
As far as the kind of things I like to read goes, I tend to prefer fantasy/sci-fi and young adult books in general but I am trying to expand my interests, so I am interested in reading almost anything.
I am hoping this group goes into 2016 as well because I think my New Year's Resolution will involve books this year and I think this group will help keep me honest.

I'm just looking to branch out on Goodreads a little bit. I've done a few challenges here and there. I read mainly historical fiction but I'm looking to expand. Right now the only person who really challenges me at reading is my thirteen year old brother. I keep beating him so I need a new challenge.
I'm looking forward to trying some of the 2016 challenges.

I read to relax and entertain myself and lately have been drawn to the dark side of people. Look forward to spirited discussions with all of you.
Happy reading and thanks mods.

I'm from Denmark and mostly read books in/translated into Danish, but the last year I've been challenging myself to read more books in English.
I read a lot of different genres but historical fiction and thrillers/crimes are among the favorites.
I'm looking forward to join the challenges!

Hi, no it's not a common name here. I've been asked a lot of times where I come from, but both my parents are Danish :)

I am Sally and I live in Australia. I am an eclectic reader but lean towards lighter and fluffier reading across the genres.
I love reading, and I love challenges - spotted a few friends in this group and those I'd poke my nose in and see how it is. Like what I see - and with a new year starting soon seems like a good to make myself known before the new challenges start.
