Candace,

Have you read "The Chronicles of Nick" by Sherrilyn Kenyon? She has several different series, but this is a good one.

message 1514: by Paul (new)

Paul Percival | 10 comments Hi all - I'm Paul, 24 years old and this is the first group that I've joined on Goodreads! Last year I set myself a challenge of reading 52 books - only one per week, not too tough - but failed miserably and only got about halfway. This year I've set the same target and so far I'm on track.

For the most part, I like to read classic fiction and history/non-fiction. I have a degree in International Politics and Military History so alot of my reading falls roughly into this category.

Looking forward to chatting with you and hopefully getting some inspiration for future reading!

message 1515: by Tiffani (new)

Tiffani Williams (tiffur2018) Hello, I am Tiffani and I am 15. I have currently read 20 books so far this year. I will list them in my discussion after this. Glad to be here.

message 1516: by Audra (new)

Audra (audra3lizabeth) Hey y'all! My name is Audra, and I'm from the U.S.! My current reading goal for this year is 30 books, and I just finished my 15th book of the goal. I read a lot during the summer, when I'm not in school, so I apologize in advance if I disappear a bit during the school year (October - June). I enjoy reading books that don't pertain to my major, which is Community Health Ed, or Public Health as it is more widely known. I also like a random array of books, and I recently have discovered a love for mystery and thrilling books.

message 1517: by Amy (Other Amy) (new)

Amy (Other Amy) | 632 comments Hello, all. I'm Amy and I am from the U.S. I am new to Goodreads and joined both to keep track of my to-read list and to get back in the habit of reading for pleasure. (I read a lot for work.) I am going for 52 books this year.

message 1520: by katie (new)

katie | 160 comments Hi folks, I'm Katie. I am a 30-something in San Francisco with a bit of a book obsession. I was that kid who always brought a book with me everywhere I went. I will read almost anything, favorites include classic literature, sci-fi/fantasy, nonfiction about super nerdy topics, memoirs, travel literature. I was behind on my reading for a while due to my previous job which entailed reading long, boring legal and policy documents, so in the past year I've really been enjoying getting back to reading for pleasure, plus a new commute that allows me to read. I'm a little behind on my reading challenge for 2015 than I would like to be, so I thought this awesome group would help me catch up. Thanks for running the group, mods!

Hey everyone, I just joined Goodread's a month or two ago and I have just started to become a bigger reader than before. My goal this year is to read 15 books and I hope that number will grow over the years. Recently I've been enjoying horror books, preferably Stephen King's, but I also like fiction, YA, and some fantasy and romance. I also have a few questions so if anyone is able to help please message me!!

message 1526: by Daša (last edited Jul 07, 2015 11:29AM) (new)

Daša (dashenqua) | 6 comments Hi all! I didn't know that a supporting group to the Goodreads 2015 Reading Challenge does exist. That's why I am joining this late. My name is Dasa and I come from Slovakia. I actually work for the biggest internet bookseller in the world (I am surprised myself when I put it this way :) because my actual work has nothing to do with books. I am also blogger beginner at The Dream Chaser's Notebook. And I love to read books in English. For the Goodreads 2015 Reading Challenge I've resolved to read 35 books this year. I've already read 18. There's also my half-year reading summary post on my blog :) I am currently finishing The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet by Bernie Su and Kate Rorick - a book from my more relaxed summer reading list :) I am glad I find myself in this group of like-minded booklovers trying to reach their reading goals while enjoying the reading :)

message 1527: by Albert (new)

Feel free to send me a friend request!

Solistari Hello all :) I'm Sarah and after 5 years of studying, I can finally get back to reading for fun :D

I'm a big fantasy fan, and anything with magic in.
My favourite books recently have been the Magician's trilogy by Lev Grossman, and I'm a big Game of Thrones fan.

I've just started following some booky youtubers so hopefully I'll be finding some more books soon!

message 1532: by Melody (last edited Jul 12, 2015 01:24PM) (new)

Melody (unpaintedmelody) | 8 comments Hi all! :::waves hand obnoxiously:::I'm Melody and somewhat new to goodreads. I signed up years ago, but didn't stick to it.

Truth be told, I was the kid who hated to read and struggled through assigned literature in school. Because of that, books intimidated me. It wasn't until I was in my 30s that I made myself pick up a book for the sheer pleasure of it. I now yearn for the time to turn pages and get lost in a story.

(Oh and I'm still in my 30s although the clock is ticking....loudly.)

Life has gotten in the way of picking up books oh so many times. I'm on a mission to stick my nose in a book a 100 times more than checking social media. This is my first goodreads group and I look forward to the monthly challenges (and the yearly).

I just finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (loved it!) and now on to The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant. I often enjoy 'fluff' reads to just take my mind off life -- easy reads that don't demand too much of me. Reading is my way to unwind from storms - there have been several lately.

My sweet neighbor and I are hoping to start a book club (in real life) soon. I'm excited! I'm looking forward to being a part of this group!

message 1533: by Amy (new)

Amy (amymorales) Hi everyone! I'm Amy, my favorite books are Robinson Crusoe and Lord of the Flies. Favorite genres include; fantasy, dystopian, and of course classics! I'm also a huge TV Person, I enjoy watching Supernatural, Breaking Bad, Scandal, House of Cards, and a bunch more- which I'll not name because I'm afraid I'll bore you, haha.

message 1534: by Jana (new)

Jana Hi everyone! I'm Jana, 18 years old and I'm from Belgium. I really started reading when the last Harry Potter book came out. I then started reading a lot, every week I had a new book, unfortunatley I've been in what feels like an everlasting readingslump which I'm trying to get out of. Right now I'm reading Game of Thrones, which I love, but Red Queen and many other books are also on my TBR.

message 1535: by Jerri (new)

Jerri Corgiat | 1 comments I'm like Melody - new to Goodreads, joined a few years ago but never stuck with it! I was once a voracious reader but seems I let Netflix, FB, email, surfing the net sap up a lot of my time. I'm hoping that by participating in a challenge, it'll spur me on to spending more time between the pages! Because every time I do, I wonder why I'm not doing it more! I'm an editor and writer but haven't published anything in years. I'm looking forward to this!

message 1537: by Yesenia (new)

Yesenia (yesenia28) Hey everyone! My name is Jesse and I am a newbie. I made a goodreads profile a few months ago and I have use it to keep track of the books I have read and to keep track of the books that I want to read. I set up a reading challenge in January to read 10 books this year and I have read 8 so far and I am currently on my 9th (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). I have never joined a group and I thought that maybe it was time! Growing up I enjoyed to read and once I graduated high school I joined the Marine Corps and just stopped reading :(. One day I felt that it was time to start reading again because it was something that I enjoyed doing so much. So here I am now joining a group and reading my 9th book! YAY lol. So now I constantly go to Barnes and Noble and thrift stores in search of books...I kind of have an obsession lol. Hmmm, what else? I am 25, kind of awkward, somewhat funny, very caring and that is all I have for now :).

Langfordlibrarian | 1 comments What a diverse group! Hi, I'm Peggy, probably old enough to be everyone's mom at least, maybe even abuela! I've been motivating kids to read for 30 years, and think a new book is the best thing EVER! A reading Around the World in 50 Years at the moment, just finished Grandma Gatewood's Walk by Ben Montgomery. I'm a based-on-a-true story kind of girl. Mostly I switch between romances and suspense novels, with a sprinkling of science fiction, and YA books. Sometimes I manage a biography, or a historical non-fiction. Usually anything that looks slightly interesting gets added to my insanely long list of books to read.
