Elisa wrote: "Hello, my name is Elisa. And I am an avid reader. I usually try read multiple different books. And I have the best part time job ever because I work at a library."Welcome, Elisa! Do you get any special library perks? Like getting to take home new releases before they shelve them? I asked the library staff where I live if they could do that, and sadly, they can't. But they can continue to check out books even if they have overdue books. (If they've agreed to let the library take the fines out of their paychecks.)
Hi, I just joined the group as well. I don't really know what to read -- so I just tend to read whatever is nearest or handed to me... >.<
Howdy, I'm Stephen 33 from Ireland. I've been doing the challenge for 2015 by myself. 13 out of 50 so far and I would love to take part in talks with others about the books they've read and maybe try to review some. Not many of my friends are readers so thought a group would be a nice start.Cheers
Hi all, I'm Tom from Atlanta, GA. Ravenous consumer of fantasy/sci-fi, and will generally read anything written well or containing new and interesting ideas. I have a zillion interests, yet behind them all is reading, threading everything together.
Best wishes to everyone in achieving their 2015 reading goals!
Tom
Hi, my name is Karin. I love to read. My goal is to read 50 books this year. I like to read different kinds of books.
Hi, I'm Brea. I have been looking for a group to join to keep me on track with my reading goals. I also like new book suggestions and discussion when a book is too good not to talk about with someone!
Right now I'm reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, I meant to read it when it first came out. I'm sorry I waited so long, it is really good!
Hi, I my name is Amy. I live in Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay. I'll read just about anything but particularly enjoy historical fiction and mysteries. I am new to Goodreads and eager to explore all that is offered. Excited to join some of these challenges.
Hi everyone! I am Daniela, from Buenos Aires. I am turning 26 today and have decided to join my own personal reading challenge this year. My favourite genres are historical fiction, romance, mystery and thrillers. I also like series and trilogies, because they make me get involved with a story line for longer. One of my favourite books ever is the Outlander series, by Diana Gabaldon. I love stories with social, cultural or political backround and to learn things while I read.
Hi I am Karen I go by Kazzy on good reads, I love to read and setting myself new goals each year. This year is to read new authors and try different books. I read a lot of Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, so I want to change it up. If anyone has read a good book please feel free to recommend:-), Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Thank you :-)
Hello everyone, I'm Pien, 33 years old and from The Netherlands. I've always liked reading but didn't keep lists. I love epic fantasy, classics (historical fiction/romance), some poetry but I basically used to read anything that I got my hands on. My intention is to add them all on Goodreads, but for now I'm just adding what I'm reading atm. I recently rediscovered Goodreads and with that ebooks and the wonderful world of audiobooks. Right now I found new (for me) genre's like urban fantasy. I usually read 2 or 3 books at the same time a " guilty pleasure" book, something classified as literature or a classic and something fantasy or sci-fi.
This year my personal goal is 100 books. I'm 3 books behind schedule atm so I have some reading to do. ;) I also saw someone doing an "Around the World in 80 Books challenge" which seemed really interesting.
I'm usually not someone who's very active on fora, but I'll try to better my life.
Anyway I'm rambling, nice to meet all of you.
Hi, I'm Mary Ann. I read a lot of YA/Middle School books for my job. I like "adult" reads, too, so this might be where I can have the pleasure of both. I have challenged myself to read 50 books this year. I will try to read as many from this group, but will probably not get through all of them.
hi :) i'm angela and i joined goodreads in january 2014. i only have books on my read shelf that i read after that date (with a few exceptions). i'd love to have a record of all the books i've ever read, but it's impossible to remember them all. i'm 22 years old, i share my life with two dogs that i 'own', border collie/pomeranian mix jamie and german wirehair pointer/english pointer mix flynn, several dogs (the number always changes) at my work place, an animal welfare organisation, and two cats, jenny and snoopy (yes, my cat is named after a dog ;) ).
i don't (and don't want to) have a favourite genre, i like reading many different things and constantly expanding my horizon. my favourite stand alone is probably every day by david levithan (i say probably because choosing only one is almost impossible). i don't know if this can still be called a stand alone though, since a companion novel is going to come out.
last year, i set my reading goal at 50 books and i completed the challenge :) this year, i've set it at 51 books, but i'm already at 32 in the middle of march, so i might have to bump it up a bit.
setting a goal of how many books i want to read in a year has really motivated me to read more but i still don't want to force myself to read and have it become a chore instead of an indulgence :)
Hey everyone, I'm Allison! I have joined this group as a way keep track of what I have read. I plan on reading at least 30 books which leaves me at 3 books a month. I'm an avid reader so this shouldn't be too hard for me. I really want to discover new books and genres so if you have any recs please feel free to share! Thanks a bunch. <3
Hi, I'm a retired forester (I know) in India, and am catching up with my reading... and writing! I've been documenting stuff like my experience with the Dewey system... check out http://doingthedewey.blogspot.com/201...I have a dozen books on hand right now... and yes, I love old books shops! They come in containers from the US and UK...from all the cast-offs of your bokshelves !
Hi everyone! My name's Anna; 27yo german-russian, recently graduated in german Literature. I use the goodreads-widget to keep up with my 2015 challenge, so I'm gonna pass on creating personal threads etc.Since the university isnt swallowing up all my spare time with incredibly boring books anymore, I wanna try to get back to my tbr piles and finally read books that I like. I love sci-fi, fantasy, dystopian stories as well as books about politics, science and environment.
I'd love to discover new books and be glad for any recommendtions :) I'd love to join some buddy reads~
Hey! I'm Jahatay (ja*tay) and I'm 17. I love to read and I'm open - minded to any book add long as it's not non-fiction (not as fun to me).
Hi everyone, I'm a 20 years old full time college student. I used to hate book but this year managed to transform me into a bookworm. My most favorite genre is lgbt.
I have a strange obsession with romance mixes with horror genre, but somehow, those two genres don't go well together (usually)- and nah, not the vampire type of horror/romance. It's more of a...ghost, serial killer, haunted, infected horror/ romance type. The type that usually ended with everyone dead.
Hi my name is Samantha. I love reading and have recently experienced a renewed interest in reading because of booktube where I heard about this site. I haven't won any giveaways yet but an author did send me a kindle version of her book.I'm here to read and discover new books.
I'm Cardine andI'm 16! I just got back onto the reading train after falling off for a while! Chu Chu!!
Cardine wrote: "I'm Cardine andI'm 16! I just got back onto the reading train after falling off for a while! Chu Chu!!"Nice to meet you Cardine. Go to know I wasn't the only one who discovered reading again.
Hi guys I am Sushant from India. I am 20 years old. Actually I started reading books this year. ( don't ask me what was I doing until now cuz I really don't know where I was wandering 20 years.)I think I wasted it. But from now I am going to read, read until I satisfy.
Hi I'm Fay. Ive always loved to read and have fond memories of my nan reading Beatrix Potter and Enid Blyton to me. I enjoy all kinds of genres and normally read books on a recomendation. I wish I could read all day, but my job and life get in the way.

Hey, I'm Sarah (Obviously). I love just about every genre of books. I'm a book addict. I love paperback/hardback books but I tend to read on my Kindle more.
Hello everyone! I'm DianI just start to read books again after long time, i dont read one. Now, i am ready for books that i've missed for past years. Try to catch up any recommendation novel i've missed out :)
Hello all, My name is Samantha and I am fairly new to goodreads. I am female so I read a lot of romances, but I have also learned about booktube recommendations and use those. Like I am currently reading The 5th Wave, Polarity in Motion, and Darkness.
Hi all, I'm Brandi and I'm an avid reader. I've been apart of good reads for a few years. However this is my first time utilizing the app to its fullest. I'm yearning to chat with people who devour books like I do!
Hello everyone! My name is Eric, and I'm a fiction and technical writer. That can cause a bit of turmoil in my mind, but I deal.
I'm looking to start contributing to GoodReads in some way beyond just a collection for my book trophies (which I wasn't very diligent.
I hope to contribute a lot to this and other groups.
Hi, I'm Vee. I'm fourteen, and I love YA, fantasy and romance. I'm an absolute Potterhead. I just joined the group.
Hello! I'm Athena. I love to read and write. My favorite genre is probably dystopian or science fiction but I also enjoy just about anything you put in front of me that isn't military strategy or too disturbing. I'm also a bit of a history buff, and will always be pleased when a book gives accurate history to the time period it takes place in (if in the past). I cannot wait to be apart of this group and see what happens. :)
Because I can never decide what to read next, I joined this site so that I could have someone tell me what to read next.I am a 23 year old recent graduate with a degree in English. I plan to study Library Science in a Masters Program but we'll see.
I come from a long line of bibliophiles and my collection of over 2,000 pales in comparison to my father's 14,000, not that I'm bragging. (Ok, I'm bragging XD)
Anyhow, I'm really excited because I've always wanted to do the book club thing and challenges and whatnot and a virtual one seems really awesome.
Hello all, I am Siewjye. My nickname is Jay. I am 22 years old and I live in Malaysia. I love reading so much. I just created a 2015 personal reading challenge with the target of 50 books this year! So good luck to myself.
Hello everyone I am Tiffany and new to the group! I love reading, im not picky about what kinda books I read as long as they have a great story.
Hi all! I'm Marci. Just joined the group. I've been getting back into reading after a long "sabbatical" :) I have one question that's been really bugging me that i'd love to ask - for the Reading Challenge, can you only read books you've never read before, or can you re-read old books to count towards your total?
Hi, I am Irene. I read whatever attracts my attention, without big preferences for any genre. I joined this group because I want to use Goodreads more than I've done in the past and taking part in the challenges seemed like a good way to start.
Hiii everyone. I'm Brianna and I just joined. I read a lot and I've found myself reading just a little more this year than I did last year. I guess maybe because my life was more hectic last year, or maybe I'm just doing more book-related things this year. Like I've become a mod of a group just starting out. I go to the weekly book club at my library when they're reading something I've never read. Plus I've been on GoodReads almost every day. I will read just about any genre, but my two favorites are crime and dystopia. I'm 22 (haha no I'm 23. My birthday was a month ago exactly and you'd think I'd remember I'm a year older) and I live in Ohio. I can be very random at times and can talk for hours then sit there a few minutes later all shy like I wasn't just talking your head off.
Anyways I hope to get to know some of you and maybe many of us have a lot in common when it comes to books.
