We did a Buddy read of the bookQuiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking
You can find it in the February buddy read in this group. Buddy reads are a lot of fun. If you can't find it let new know and I will put a link here.
I like self helps as well. If you have a group that is studying a book I would love to know about it.

how do i go back to feb to view it?thanks!
welcome caitlin...hope you enjoy this as much as i have...

Edited to add I also love Victorian/gothic horror.

One thing I've found is that everyone is friendly and helpful, so just ask questions, and you'll get all the help you need. And not just the mods, pretty much everyone will be supportive and help you get things figured out.
So, welcome to the group and have fun!

My favorite genre is what I call '1800's romantic suspense'. If there is a real name for these books, I wish someone would let me know. Examples are: Silent in the Grave, And Only to Deceive, The Anatomist's Wife and The Blackstone Key.
I really enjoy participating in challenges. They help knock out books on my TBR list, and it's a good way to find new books and authors to read.
I started a blog over a year ago. I'm having a lot of fun reviewing out of copyright books you can find free in the internet. There's nothing better than free books!
Hi, my name is Liz and I love to read. I'm new, just found out that good reads has groups, lol. So I'm looking for friends that enjoy the kind of books I like to read so we can chat about it. It is also the first time I make a new years resolution and join the reading challenge. I have decided to read 100 books for 2014 and am currently in a slump as I can't seem to decide what to read next :( anyways I hope this is the right group for me, so, Hello!

@Annie: That is a great profession, make sure you'll keep your enthusiasm. Teachers can help children so much!

Jennifer, I don't know if you still watch this thread, but:
If you look at the group homepage, and you scroll down the list of topics, at the end you'll find a link that says "more discussions", which will lead you to this page. There you can find all topics we've had so far, including all our previous group read discussions :).

I love doing challenges and buddy reads because it helps me focus on reading, which is hard to do with an active crawler in the house haha
I also love learning about new books from people, so feel free to friend request me

I didn't read much last year and I feel a little bit ashamed of it :) 2014 will be the year of my great return (at least I hope so!)
This is the first time that I join a group in GR, but you're exactly what I was looking for! See ya :)

personal faves are.
Gardens of the moon.
salamander (omnibus)
gaunts ghost series,
hope to hear about some good books on here!

@Valla: Don't feel bad about not reading a lot! The most important thing is that you enjoy whatever it is you read. I've gone down from around 180 books last year to about 15 I've read so far this year, but I've spent a lot of time with these books (even thinking about them when I wasn't reading), so I know them more. (And because I used to read so much, I really know how to pick a book for myself now, so I haven't read anything bad either.)
So you can read a lot or focus more on something - whatever it is, we will cheer you on! :)

But I see a lot of interesting titles so I think "Oh, I wanna absolutely read this book! But I don't want finish the one that I am reading just now!", I need to find a right balance!

i'm looking forward to know you all to exchange thoughts and recommend books
thanks

Wonderful! I'm really looking forward to that buddy read. It's a book that I wouldn't have picked for myself (mostly because I didn't know anything about it), but I'm sure it'll be well worth the read. Do you collect old books?

I live in Jacksonville, FL with wife of 32+ years, 2 dogs, 2 cats & have 3 grandchildren who live close. Life is good.
Cassandra - yes I do collect old books. Ever hear of Henryk Sienkiewicz?

I'm new to GR and still just settling in. I love books and mysteries, sci-fi, thriller, contemporary fiction, classics, adventure, historical, great love stories - but read just about everything.
Glad to connect with everyone. Feel free to add me!

I look forward to participating :)
