Shivani | 2 comments Hello,I have joined this group to be able to read different books and challenge myself to reading more.

message 503: by Lacy (new)

Lacy | 3 comments Hi all! My name is Lacy, and I am a 26 year old Navy wife and PR consultant. I am new to the group (just started today!) and I joined for a multitude of reasons. I was and English Lit major in college and with day-to-day life getting increasingly busy, reading has fallen by the weighside and I desperately want to get back into it, as reading/ writing is my passion. I also wanted to challenge myself and find some new treasures in the world of lit. I read any genre, seriously, any genre. Just excited to start and get my reading on! My goal this year is 25+

message 504: by Katie (new)

Katie Bananas | 4 comments Hello all!!!! I am a new member as of Dec. 2013, I used to not track my reading before then, but this is definitely a good motivational idea to keep me reading!!! I have tracked some, but don't remember start-end dates. I hope some of you can become friends to keep up this motivation!! :). Read a lot!! :)

Mariam (daisymarshall) | 1 comments Hello :) I'm Mariem and I'm 14, from England :)And I would really appreciate it if any of you could suggest some interesting books to me :) Have a goo day everyone. xx

message 506: by Vi (new)

Vi (vi_thebookling) Hi, I'm Vi, 26 years old. So, throughout my life I've read a few books, but I was never a 'reading all the time' kinda girl. That changed last year thanks to Divergent. I discovered the kind of books I like and started devouring books non stop.
I'm into YA, mostly dystopia & contemporary, but always opened to suggestion.
I'm really excited about joining this group and find more books to read!

message 507: by Susan (new)

Susan Archer | 8 comments Hello. I'm Susan, and am initially amazed at how many books some of you are able to get through.
I'm not the fastest of readers ad easily distracted. So thought I could start with a book a month.
Already downloaded Rosie, so off we go.......

message 508: by Tricia (new)

Tricia | 132 comments Hi everyone! :) I'm Tricia and I am a law student, so I don't have much time, but I love reading just like all of you. My goal for this year is about 25.

message 509: by Eliza (new)

Eliza Christine (elizatheearthling) Hey, I'm Lyzy. I'm studying to become a primary school teacher and I wish to create YouTube channel with a range of types of videos, including book reviews.

I just joined a few groups on GR today so I would say I'm pretty new. My goal is to read 50 books this year, which isn't too much when you look at it from that being one book a week. But considering I read very few books last year (less than 10, or even 5), it's a bit daunting to me but if I pull it off I'll be really happy with myself!

Happy reading!

I like to read books from every genre too. I always find it hard to list my favorite genres because I don't like to limit myself. Some of my favorite books are ones that cross boundaries and draw from multiple genres. Welcome to the group!

Yay! I hope you enjoy the group. Welcome :]

Nice, and welcome! You are making great progress. I'm almost 12 into my 76 book goal, which is a lot for me. This is my first full year of being active on Goodreads and beginning with a goal, and it has really motivated me to read every day.

Otherwise, I hope to check out this group on what's good etc.

message 532: by Jennifer (last edited Feb 14, 2014 11:00AM) (new)

Jennifer Hi! I'm Jennifer and I just joined Goodreads about a month ago. I found that when I went to college I stopped reading as much for fun so now that I've graduated I want to get back into reading for fun (and I have a very long list of books that I want to read!)

My favourite types of books are sci-fi, fantasy and non-fiction about psychology and economics.

But I've never been much of a quitter, so I'll just try it again :) I mostly read fantasy, sci-fi and mystery; the only exceptions are the YA novels written by Rainbow Rowell and the thrillers by Jan Costin Wagner.

message 544: by Juliana (new)

Juliana | 60 comments Hi Rebecca and Hazel I am not far from you in Dudley but I must agree about your waterstones it's fantastic the staff are so helpfull too I have only managed the Merry Hill branch lately but it's not as good as your branch and there is a couple of assistants that can't be bothered. Just give me a bookshop and leave me there lol

message 545: by Kara (new)

Kara (karaayako) | 3984 comments Hazel's correct, Rebecca. Audiobooks definitely count. I enjoy them myself. :)

If Goodreads counts it as a book (that is, if Goodreads has it or could have it in its system) and YOU want to count it as a book, we're totally fine with it.

message 546: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 19, 2014 08:03PM) (new)

I'm in for 101 books for 2014 with a mixture of books, ebooks, and audiobooks. I tend to mix things up between literary fiction, genre fiction, and non-fiction. I've been keeping track of all the books I've read long before Goodreads and the internet. I started in December 1990.

I'll probably reread the Kesey novel for March. It's a great book.

message 547: by Sushma (new)

Myndi (madbooklove) | 13 comments Hi, I'm Myndi! I'm a mother of four, including 3 year old triplets. I used to read about 100 books a year, but then...triplets. So, I'm doing my best to carve out time for myself...to READ! I mostly read fiction (like 99.9%), and have been on a long streak of reading YA/fantasy/paranormal/supernatural stuff. Have discovered a strong interest in historical fiction. Love literature. And I'm long-winded. ;)
