Rita Chapman Hi Neha,

Just found your blog. I checked out storywala - great site. I don't do much blogging apart from promoting my book Missing in Egypt and having a website at ritaleechapman.com. Thought I'd say hello anyway.

Rupali Rotti | 14 comments Hi Neha,

Loved your style of introducing the books and your observations about them. Its a delight to get introduced to books this way! :-) I'm an avid reader too, though my goodreads profile doesn't list all the books that I've read, but I've recently turned a writer as well. My first book, The Valentine's Day Clue, an amateur detective adventure novel, has been published last year and I'm currently finishing off on my second in the series.

I also maintain a blog, http://nayakbrothers.wordpress.com, though it is mostly my ranting and not frequent either, but I post regularly on my FB page, facebook.com/Nayak.Brothers.Book.Series, which has recently seen a spike in followers. Hopefully it'll help me. :-p
I'll surely keep a tab on your blog for a good suggestion for my TBR. (y)

Rupali Rotti | 14 comments And Neha, being a reader, I've reviewed a few books on goodreads myself, but after reading some of the reviews on my own book, I've learned a few tips to writing great reviews. Consider this format:

How I'd rate(Star Rating)
How I liked (The Story/Plot/Theme) of the book
How I liked (The Writing) of the author
How I liked (Characters) portrayed in the book
And finally,(The Conclusion) on overall book-feel.

For an example of the above format, check out one of the reviews of my book here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
and this one as well: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

These two reviews will give you a fairly good idea why they've been liked by other readers.

Neha Gupta Hey Rupali.. Nayak Brothers and Valentine's day clue.. are you planning to write a series of books.. seems interesting.. i will definately go thru the book review format that u have told me.. but I have learnt that each writer whether a book writer or reviewer has their style.. and what clicks with the readers is something only a reader can tell.. so despite the formats we should enhance and build our style.. thanks for the tips anyways..
