This is one of my favorite series. Does anyone know if/when the 3rd will be out?

I'm about 2/3's of the way through at this point. There are a lot of characters, moving in and out. I think I'm beginning to see some characters return, and I feel some momentum building, I hope. I kind of feel there are a lot of characters, and not enough story to tie them together.

Anima, I couldn't find information on it last time I checked a month ago and I was worried they had decided not to go with a third. Good news!!
Wow, this is going great so far, I've just finished Part II, I love how (view spoiler)I really like the way Cronin writes, he can be very poetic... when he's not writing about spilled guts and severed limbs, that is.
I agree Cin, (view spoiler). Although I'm not huge fan of gore descriptions, I must say that Cronin writes well even such dark parts.
I am starting to think my friends are too biased. 15 out 16 five star reviews. Maybe someone on this board can read "Finding Gordon Lipschitz" and let me know if they agree. I can lower the kindle cost if anyone has a problem with the $7.99.
I've just finished! I'm in a bit of a daze right now, this book was great :)I loved the ending (view spoiler)
I'll probably post more thoughts later.

Keep reading Kristie!! You'll learn a lot about Lila later ;)How sad to hear you're not enjoying it Heather, maybe you could take a break and come back to it later? It helped me when I was reading The Passage and I got a bit frustrated at about 30% (nothing from the blurb had happened yet at that point LOL).
Hi Cin - lol I did already, I read The Rosie Project - and flew through it in 3 days. This book had taken nearly the whole of Oct and I'm skimming quite a bit. I think I'll keep struggling on rather than put in a DNF category cos it's counting towards my GCAC tally. Hopefully ill get into it soon. :-)
Kristie, I was also surprised by this turn in the plot(view spoiler), and I must admit that appearance of certain characters was unexpected (view spoiler), but the more you read the more the story unwinds and facts start to connect :)

But the whole book has been kind of everywhere, so I kind of went with it. Really want to see Guilder get what's coming to him.
I'm in Part VII The Outlaw. It feels like this book goes anywhere, everywhere. A lot of players in action, lots of storylines. I didn't recognize some characters initially. I found myself struggling to remember the family trees, who was romancing who. Pages and pages would fly by before a light comes on. Oh yeah, that's so-and-so... I'm glad I'm not the only one this has happened to, based on the comments I've read. I guess taking a break between the two books wiped the encyclopedia of characters from my mind. Nevertheless, I'm definitely enjoying the ride. Right now, (view spoiler) I really hope I can finish today.

Not always sure of a character's backstory at this point, but when two characters meet and "compare notes," it jogs the ole memory.
Wow! I'm done! What an amazing journey! I do want to clarify even though I had to work to put pieces together, it was fun. So much to process. I will add more thoughts later.
I'm done as well. Big fight sequence there at the end. I liked that things did not go as planned, but still worked out.And the links between characters are starting to help pull the story together.
I don't know if I want to wait and start this series until the third book is to be released. For The Song of Ice and Fire series I hate hate waiting for the next installments and forgetting all the stuff before. That is why I am looking forward to The Dark Tower series - I can plow straight through.
OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSHITY GOSHITY GOOOOOOOOSSSSSHHHHHH. This book is DA BOMB. Like Schereriously (lol my last name is Scherer. No pun intended) but JEEZ THIS IS MY LIFE. I can't WAIT to read the third one when it comes out. IT'S NOT OUT RIGHT? CUZ IF IT IS THEN TOOTLES. I've gotta read it!!!
Hey guys! Is anyone still reading this? I took a little break after The Passage and started this one late.
I'm at about 58% of the way through. I think it was chapter 36 (but I don't have the book in front of me) and I was dying! (view spoiler) I was pretty shocked when I got to that part and it was really difficult to hear at times! (I'm listening to the audio book, which has a great narrator, but I also have the paper copy at home.) Just wondering if anyone else is reading it and gotten to that part.
I'm assuming that (view spoiler)
Also (view spoiler)
Ok, enough spoilers for now. lol

By the way, has anyone seen that The Passage is supposed to be being made into a movie?? It's supposed to be coming out in 2016.
Allison - The third book is called The City of Mirrors and it's scheduled to come out in 2014.

I'm still reading this one... Started it last month, had to take a break from it. Life happened and other books read... Back to it tomorrow...
All I can say is this..... Thank god it's over. I think i must be the only one of you who didn't LOVE this book. I gave it a 3/5. Took me two months. I stopped twice. I didn't like it nearly as much as The Passage and I'm sorry but I don't understand how it won GR best horror 2012. It dragged in lots of parts but was interesting in other parts - eg parts with Lila, Sara, Kate and Amy. It was good enough though for me to struggle on just so I knew what happened.
Sorry to hear that Heather! I didn't think it was slow at all. I did find certain parts hard to read though.
