Welcome to the Mystery, Crime & Thriller Group. Wales! What a beautiful part of the world, although I've only seen photographs. My wife's dad was of Welsh decent. He worked for a time in the coal mines in Pennsylvania (USA) alongside his dad. Our granddaughter has recently discovered the folk song "My Young Man" and she sings it as good as Kate Rusby. She recorded it for my wife as a tribute to her great grandfather.
Now, about good mysteries: Have you read the classics of this genre? Like The Maltese Falcon or The Big Sleep? Great place to start.

Thank you for the welcomes!
I shall take those as some starter recmmendations quite happily, thank you!
Welcome Carly. Obvious other classics would be anything by Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle but the wonderful UK tradition of great mystery writing continues with books by PD James, Martha Crimes, Elizabeth George, and many, many others. Check out the group bookshelf for ideas from our group reads.
I'm Carly, I'm a student from Wales in the UK. I'm new to goodreads and new to the group. Looking forward to getting some good ideas for books to read from this group!
