Finished. I actually enjoyed the ending much more than the beginning. It wasn't awesome, but wasn't bad either. I would say 3 stars.

Oh another thing I love the little device they have that they can put to something and it gives them the date of it. I need one of those lol

I'm not sure how I feel about this movie. I liked it enough to buy a copy and watch it several times, and it has some absolutely amazing scenes. On the other hand, I think there is WAY too much conjecture from the characters. Idris Elba just pops in at one point and reveals that the engineers were making bioweapons that turned on them. How did he figure that out? And how did the two main characters figure out that the engineers created humans? How does David know that that last engineer is coming for Elizabeth towards the end? And how did he figure out that the engineers were planning to return to earth to destroy humanity?
I don't know if it is the director giving subtle hints or just the history I have of watching the Alien movies, but I disliked and mistrusted David from the first scene.
I think it's the history. In the trajectory of the Alien films, the androids start out being totally villainous then become heroes. Ian Holm's android is essentially evil; Winona Ryder's is a complete turnaround and she's actually trying to save humanity from whatever Ripley can give birth to (oddly enough, Ripley's character also does a bit of a turnaround; she's the new alien threat).
Since Prometheus is a prequel to Alien, it makes sense that David will be an antagonist. I like that it's not so simple though - his character is more complex and you can see where his contempt for human beings comes from, especially in the way that characters like Charlie treat him.
I've seen movies 1 and 4 quite often, but I haven't watched two for a while, and no.3 is so crap I didn't buy it even though I have the others.
i really hope Ridley Scott continues with this arc of the series. I love what the advances in cinematography, special effects and set design have done for the story.
bamf: bad ass motherf*
Sorry I like my acronyms :)
I think I have to watch this movie again, and the other Alien ones, cause some things you guys are saying are going right over my head. Anyone in for watching the other Aliens with me at some point?

Cool we can watch it after that. If I break down and watch it earlier, we can still discuss it :)
