Fire: I was fascinated by the way Gabriel (view spoiler)[ communicated with the fire. I love the personification of the fire as well. That's nothing I had expected at all. I saw tenderness in Gabriel during that scene. I think he's been given a bad rap and has met its expectations. I think he isn't the jerk I thought he was in book 1. I loved all these spoilers! Simon ROCKS! Gabriel is awesome, but I loved him in the last book too. I wish he could get his brain to control his mouth, but he has a good heart and he's carrying around so much guilt over his parents death. I think it's the only way he can deal with what he supposedly did (I'm not convinced it was actually him) - is to make ppl hate him!

Layne is amazing in how she deals with Gabriel! Wait til you learn a bit more about her - their relationship is SO ironic!
