Max turned back over to her. "Umm why not?" He asked. Max didnt see why Alex coming to one of his games seemed bad. Same with him giving her a ride.
"Ever since he became my adoptive parents he is a bit protective and considering the age gap..." she trailed off.
"Oh ok." Max said. He did not really understand why Alex was so nervous, but he just went with it. Gavin's house came into veiw.
She let go of his hand reluctantly and gave a look of apology, "I'm sorry. In case we don't have a chance, meet in the same place tomorrow?"
"Ok." Max said. He walked into Gavin's house and shouted, "Gavin!"
Gavin was in the kitchen attempting to cook. Alex smelt the air and sent a amused look to Max.
"Here, Gav." she said handing him the phone, "Order takeout."

"What is that?" Max asked Gavin. "It looks like your trying to cook that dead pigeon I saw on my way here." he joked. He sent an amused glance back at Alex.
She sent an amused look back and Gavin pretended to act offended, "How Dare thee offend my cooking!"
Max laughed. "Mind if I stay with you guys for dinner?" He asked.
Alex grinned and Gavin nodded, "Course. But I'm getting pizza first. My meal is dead."

Alex watched her brother grab the phone and dial the number. She went to the couch and carried on writing her essay.

Max wanted to go sit by Alex, but he remembered what she had said and stayed where he was.

Gavin moaned and grabbed his wallet, "I'll be ten minutes. Watch her for me?"
"Sure." Max said. He saluted to Gavin and smiled. He waited until Gavin left then went to sit next to Alex.
Alex turned to face him and smiled, taking his hand again, cautiously leaning into him.
Max leaned a bit into Alex too. "Gavin left... What are you writing about."
"Just a brief write up about Gatsby. English. Nothing too important." she explained, fulling leaning on him now, her head rested on his shoulder.
Max smiled. "Ok then." Max started to bush his fingers through her hair.
She stopped typing bu t didn't move, surprisingly loving him combing her hair.
"This is ok right?" Max asked her. He leaned his head on hers.
"If it wasn't I would have said something." she whispered with caution. She rested her head with his and shut her eyes, enjoying the intimacy.
Max smiled. "Ok good." He said. He closed his eyes too. He put an arm around her and pulled her closer.
She smiled and cuddled close, taking a nice breath of fresh air in as her insides danced.
"What will happen if your brother finds out?" Max asked.
She inhaled sharply, "He would come after you I guess. There would be lots of blood and shouting then he would come to me and he would pack me up and we would move back to the UK."
"Yeah that's no good." Max said. He kissed her gently on the forehead.
She chuckled and kissed his cheek in return, "No, it would be very bad."
"Yeah." Max said. "We have to keep this a secret then. Does he let you date at all?"
She shook her head, "This would be hell. I mean, I'm sixteen and you're, what? Twenty two? Twenty four?"
"Twenty three, but just barely." Max replied. "That's a 7 year difference. Wow."
"Wow..." she repeated, "That's a big gap..." truth was she felt immature and inexperienced next to him but she didn't want him to know that.
"Yeah." Max replied. He heard the garage to the house open, so he hurried and went over to the couch and turned on the TV to a football game.
Alex carried on writing but took a quick look at Max and smiled.

Gavin walked in with pizza and handed out the boxes whilst Alex printed off her work and shut her computer down.

Max got up and walked toward the pizza. " That looks good." He said.
"It better." Gavin said, "I'd usually force us to eat dead pigeon but since we have a guest."
Max laughed. "Ok then." He said. He flipped open the lid of the pizza box.
Alex came over a took a slice and began to eat it while Gavin took two.
Max took two as well. He sat down at the table. He'd chosen a spot where he could see Alex and the game.
Alex noticed what he had done and smiled at him.
He smiled back at Alex and started to eat his pizza.
Once Alex was finished she excused herself for a shower and went upstairs.
Alex came down a few minutes later in her pyjamas and kissed her brother on the cheek, "I'm going to bed. Maths test tomorrow." she waved night to Max.
Max waved back. "Well I should probably get home." He said to Gavin.
"Arnt you staying over?" he asked, "You're welcome to."
