Terri Bynum (terrib2018) Hi Amber, I wasn't sure whether I should chime in on this because although I intend to, I haven't read Inkheart yet. I have, however, read the entire Hunger Games series before the hype really began with the movies, etc. These books are phenomenal! The movie was really good but O-M-G if you don't read the books you will lose SOOO much of the story!! It's told in the first person by Katniss (well duh, of course!) and there is just a crazy amount of her thought process, the history of the Districts & the Games that we all know is just impossible to capture in a 2hour movie.
I'm sure Inkheart is wonderful, I can only say that THG series is a gut-wrenching experience!
hope this helps....

DB (DB's Guide to the Galaxy) (dbgalaxy) I've read the Inkheart series and I can say that I loved Inkheart. I also watched the movie, but the trilogy is much better, since they left out numerous parts in the movie. It's told in the third person, and revolves around a girl (Meggie) and her father (Mo) who is a bookbinder. To shorten a long story, the book is brilliant.

I started reading the Hunger Games, but didn't finish it. TBH, it didn't interest me much, because I thought the narration was a bit too childish (in my mind), but I can see the hype.

To end the discussion, look at both of the series' summary, and see which one interests you more. To give my opinion, Inkheart is better.

Jay (elnovelero) I have read both trilogies and the Inkheart series was just annoying. It took me ages to finish Inkdeath and I really couldn't stand the behaviour of some characters anymore. In my opinion this trilogy is much closer to childish and the The Hunger Games never was. It describes a future that might be possible and the characters and plot are outstanding.
The Inkheart movie was worse than any other book that was mad into a film. Just boring.

Katie.g | 129 comments I've read both series. I read the inkheart series before the hunger games came out although I read Inkspell first as a friend bought it for my birthday. Personally I prefer the hunger games. Katniss is so strong and mature. The world is more adult than in Inkheart. That said, I did enjoy the Inkheart series. I love books and I fell in love with the idea of bringing them to life.
If I were you I'd read the hunger games first because you wont be able to put them down and will be dying to know how it ends.
