Larryec Eula Biss does a good job of keeping the reader interested as she jumps from topic to topic, and different locations that life has taken her. She tries to take us back to remember a time in our nation’s history we should not be proud of-but on the other hand it is a time we should never forget in the Essay “Time and Distance Overcome”.
I can’t say I agree with her on everything she writes, but I think she did a good job of getting her point across. It did make me think about some of these issues a little more than I normally would. I also found her take on her take on NAFTA, in “Letter to Mexico” interesting, as well as what she had to say about Little House - in “On the Frontier”.
I had to read this book for an English class. This is not a book I would have chosen to read on my own; however I thought it was pretty good.
