Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments I see an author has to pay for a review on your site.

As my first book just yesterday got its sixth 5 star review from Goodreads & given they & others there were freely submitted, I'll pass until I know if such a review increases sales, the true test of your service.

But good luck with your site.

Art (artfink02) | 100 comments AM, your link hangs up and doesn't load for me. Any idea what's causing it?

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Art, it did at first for me as well, but then it went through if you click on the first listing, as it's the one that has the 'dot com.'

And A.M., thanks, I'm sure your service has value, my question was, how much?

Perchance Jacqueline will let us know.

Jacqueline Patricks (jacquelinepatricks) | 112 comments Ha, just stumbled across my name being mentioned here.

Yes, I am willing to answer any questions that I can. Ms. Boyt has been very helpful, yet critical. To the best of my knowledge close to a dozen (maybe more) Indie authors have submitted so far, and Dreams is the only book to get past the first 4 chapters limit.

Initially there's a $5 fee to submit your first four chapters to see if they meet standards in order to have the rest of your book read. Ms. Boyt is a former Simon and Schuster editor and also used to work in the marketing dept. Then there's a further small fee based on the approx. word count. About $20-30. You're not paying for a review. She only accepts books that she truly feels she can rate 3 or higher. If, while reading, she feels the rating will fall below that she offers the author the option for a full private critique.

I feel that her critical points about Queen were quite accurate. They're things I'm aware of myself in hindsight. I can't say I agree with everything, but I rarely agree with anyone all of the time, but her opinions are informed, balanced, and well worth an author's time to consider.

To be clear, I responded to the link just like everyone else. She accepted Queen, read and critiqued, and since then we've gotten to know each other better. I'd never met her before then. I was biting my nails to know the results!

She's got plans for a micro-publishing company, and is very pro-author and Independent publishing. I'm excited to see where she'll be in five years!

Jacqueline Patricks (jacquelinepatricks) | 112 comments Sorry about the incorrect information. Thanks for chiming in and correcting me, A.M. I have so many things going on I obviously mixed up some things. I'd forgotten about the second author who'd made it past the four chapters but then opted for the private critique. Duh. I seriously need more sleep. 24 hour shifts on the ambulance aren't good for the brain and just get worse as I get older.

Sigh. I used to have a near perfect memory, but I can tell that it's not quite as sharp as it was 20 years ago. Seven more years until I can retire out of EMS and that day can't come soon enough sometimes.

If anyone has any other questions, A.M. is very gracious and willing to answer most anything. I highly recommend emailing her from her site if you're considering submitting to her site. Either way it's time well spent. :o)

Now I'm off to write on Queen's sequel now that my headache meds are kicking in. Oh joy!
