Anytime I meet someone who is interested in the lifestyle, I tell them that this book is a "must". It explains so many different themes, in a Vanilla user-friendly context. Use this book to its fullest extent as a personal journal. Highlight ideas, write down your questions and ideas. Enjoy the knowledge and experiences that Michael Makai has to offer.

I recommend this book all the time in various groups and pages not already familiar with the book. I learnt something about myself or the lifestyle or an aspect of D/s, or BDSM in every chapter. No question I had went unanswered. There is literally a chapter for everything you want to know and then some. More importantly, the answers are for everything you NEED to know, more than what you want to know. The book doesn't shy away from controversial subjects either. To those already involved in BDSM or the D/s lifestyle, even Fetishists and kinksters, these are very valid subjects and deserve to be aired and understood. I can't praise this book highly enough. It is so refreshing as well as being informative and educational, and the humour is the icing on the cake. You may laugh, you may cry, you may want to throw up your hands, but whatever you do, don't dismiss this book, you will do it a great disservice to do so. My Kindle highlights covered 57 pages I was so interested in what I was reading. I'm going to type them out so I can re read them over and over again in one place. I have read all the most often recommended books on BDSM, and have to say they were quite heavy going at times and some were pretty stuffy and more like a textbook than a informative guide. This book beats them all hands down. It's like actually having a conversation with the author as you read. A meeting of minds almost. If you haven't read it yet, I urge you to do so. If you have, tell all your friends about it. I do.
I'd love to read this book and do a review bc I am in this lifestyle
I honestly loved this book. It really explains in depth about sub/dom relationships, and as someone who lives in a country where exposure to the lifestyle is near nil, this book was a lifesaver.
