Did the book and/or author title have strange characters in it? I've noticed that sometimes it's hard to search for titles that have letters with accents or umlauts, etc. In those cases it's easier to search by the ISBN or ASIN.
Why would you add them again if they already exist? If there are different ISBN or ASIN then yes.
