Okay, I guess we can use this thread to discuss everything. Have you joined the Goodreads Moderator group?

First of all, helping to decide books and challenges and themes, as well as questions to ask for the discussion. In the discussion for each book of the month we'll have a list of questions asking about the book. I already took care of them for this month, but in the upcoming months we can split them up so we each have two book discussions to handle.

I was considering switching things up a bit so every other month instead of taking suggestions an making a poll, us mods decide the theme and the books of the month. Like I got suggestions and made a poll of the November theme and books, so it's decided by the group (even though we can both make suggestions and vote) and we would decide for December. What do you think?

Our November books of the month are going to be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Beastly, The Goddess Test, and The Lightning Theif. Which two do you want to handle discussions for?

If you want to go the route of set discussion questions, they're easy to find online. Otherwise, keep the questions deeper, so people will have a lot to think and debate over. And if you have more of a real discussion going, participate! I always go with a list of questions since I'm not good at participating, but either one would be fine.

They're perfect! I'm going to add the one for my secon book soon, but I'm having a bit of trouble finding discussion questions that aren't meant for essays. It will be up soon.

Do you guys think I could be a moderator? I noticed that it's only the two of you and I'd really love to be more involved with the group. :)

also, when will the December books be posted?

sweet. (: haha well I was just asking about the books because I have to check them out at the library so I like to put them on hold as soon as possible.

okay cool. I think we should spend another month on harry potter just so everyone can catch up; I haven't even started prisoner of azkaban because I wasn't really sure what was happening with it.

yeah, well hopefully we can get this group back on track! :) do you want me to mark the goddess test, percy jackson, and beastly as read? Just to clean up a bit.

cool! I think we'll be able to handle it; for all we know she's never coming back. xD so we might as well take charge in the meantime.

since the chamber of secrets won the poll, would you like me to change the start and end date for it to january 1st to january 31st?

I went ahead and changed it and I fixed all the rest of the harry potter dates as well. When are we gonna figure out the rest of the books of the month? Are we gonna hold a poll or are you and me just gonna choose them?

oh and also, do you want to take care of the discussion questions for the chamber of secrets or do you want me to take care of it?

Oh it's okay. :) I usually have quite a bit of free time so if you ever need me to take care of something just lemme know. I'm cool with taking care of the hp discussion q's. alright yeah it looks like only 4 books were suggested if you count the two I suggested. so, paranormalcy, my soul to take, witch's brew, and shiver? Is that right? I'll take paranormalcy and my soul to take discussion q's since I suggested the books anyways, hahah.

unless you're counting hp in the four? Just realized that you probably are. so what book should we cut? Paranormalcy since you've already read it?

I'm cool with cutting Shiver. So, Paranormalcy, My Soul To Take, and Witch's Brew? And I'll also take the discussion questions for My Soul To Take and you can do Paranormalcy and Witch's Brew? Thanks, I'm glad you like them. :)

yeah, good idea. I'm cool with doing Science Fiction if you are.

If you're cool with that just let me know and I'll put up a topic for people to post book recommendations, or you could always do it yourself if you feel like it.

when are we going to stop taking book recommendations for february? Just wondering since we only have a week left.

I figured if you wanted to leave the decision up to members and put up a poll, since so far we have five books recommended, we should put up the poll now. But if you just want to decide between me and you then we could continue to take recommendations for a couple more days or so.
