Was it a mystery? And are you sure it was a restaurant? Could it have been a bakery or candy shop? I'd invite you to do a not-so-quick scan of my books, since I've read several books that could possibly be the one you are looking for.
Oh, and was it a mystery, romance, chick lit? and was it part of a series or a stand alone?

It was kind of a mystery/romance/chick lit, I guess.
I remembered a few more things.. The magical spell book that was left for her was stolen. Her family member left for a retirement cruise. It was more of a small town diner feel then a restaurant. She thought she was in love with one of the men that lived in town but it turned out she had more chemistry with the magical authority guy that was there to shut the diner down. I think they kiss but he leaves at the end of the book.
Ok, I'm going to say again--do a comparison of my books and your books Lorena. I'm almost positive I've read this book. And if not this specific one--then at least 1 or 2 more in the same trope.
Sigh, packing up my house for a potential move is NOT fun, especially when my beloved books are no longer at my fingertips where I can caress them, and snuggle with them and just breathe in their scent. (Er, sorry for getting carried away. But, well, I AM a book-aholic.)

I would say it was written in the last 5-10 years.
