Pretty much neck in neck. Can't rule any team out.

message 311: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments It's pretty close. There's a couple of teams that have missed a roll and you can't even tell that they did. I know personally I'm putting the Jedi mind tricks on team 5 that they roll a one on Sunday lol.

We were one of those teams and I thought the same thing - can't even tell!

message 317: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 355 comments I'm pretty sure it's a no, but just to make sure a 3.5 in a series wouldn't work for a spot in the 50s. Only 30s.

No but also it's usually a novella and doesn't have the required 150 pages.

message 319: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments It would have to be a three, but if you can find a anthology that includes a 5,5 you could use that. There's a website www.bookssetin.com (think that's it) that you can type in a location and it'll pull up a ton of books set in that location.

message 320: by Lesley (new)

Lesley (laparks) I know it's possible that we'll be done before Thanksgiving, but just in case we're still oh-so-close to the end, do we have a plan in mind yet for how we'll be handling that weekend?

I'm going to be out of town for a hockey tournament from Thursday night to Sunday (who knows what time) and not 100% sure how much internet access I'll have and I don't want my team to suffer because of me!

message 321: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I was kicking that around last night. I'm thinking of rolling this Thursday and then everyone would have until Sunday the 30th before we roll again.

message 322: by Lesley (new)

Lesley (laparks) Thanks for the quick reply Jenne. I'm sure whatever you decide on will be fine! I just wanted to be sure we still had a plan B for that week!!! :)

That would be great. We're close but not that close.

message 324: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments I think we could roll on Sunday too.

message 325: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments Mary: Harry Dresden's Love Slave wrote: "I think we could roll on Sunday too."

This Sunday might be tough to have a book read by Thanksgiving if you're hosting or doing any of the shopping and cooking. I'm good either way.

message 326: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments And that was my other thought roll on Sunday and then skip Thursday's roll and if anyone needed a pass for the week that would be ok so long as the team and the mods knew about it upfront.

message 327: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments I was thinking of what Jenne just said. Roll this Thursday, then this Sunday and then not again until after the Sunday after Tday. That gives Americans a week to read something and the non-Americans don't have to wait quite as long between rolls.

message 328: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 355 comments I like the roll this Thursday and Sunday and let Sundays roll have a week to finish, not the 3 days.

It won't pause the game too much for those who aren't effected by Thanksgiving and those of us who have non-traditional plans work out too. Most of my family works retail so they all have to work Thursday so our big family Thanksgiving dinner at my sisters is on Monday.

message 329: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Here's the Thanksgiving schedule:
We'll roll this Thursday and reviews will be due on Sunday like we've been doing.
We'll roll Sunday and then have until the following Sunday the 1st till those are due. And then it'll be back to normal. Based on the board positions I don't think we'll go much more than a couple or a few rolls after Thanksgiving at the most.
If anyone is going out of town this weekend, anyone that won't have time to read and review next week please say so on your team's thread. I'll be on the lookout for anyone's post. If you don't think you'll be able to read just let your team know and you'll be exempt/given a pass etc. without slowing down the team.

Lindy (lindylee) | 375 comments Author/Title: Stewart, Mariah Dead Certain
WOW: Book 2
Rated: 4
Finished 11-19

This is the second book in the dead series, which I read out of order, but they dont' seem like the series I usually read. Antiques dealer Amanda Crosby gets word that her business partner, Derek England is dead. He has just returned from a trip to the Italy where we made a big purchase of a stolen antiquity. Chief of Police Sean Mercer thinks she may be the murderer. Then the antiques dealer next ddor, Marian O'Connor is murdered, they finally think she might be next.

except thanksgiving is next week (4th Thursday) so wouldn't the adjustment be then?

message 333: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments That's when it will be Pat. We'll roll like normal the 21st and again on the 24th. Then we won't roll again till the 1st. But if anyone is leaving tone as soon as this coming weekend and won't be able to read it'll be ok so long as their team and the mods are aware.

Thanks Jenne - sounds like the most workable schedule. Thanks for your consideration for those of us that celebrate Thanksgiving (and the first night of Hanukkah falls the night before) since I know we have a lot of international participants.

Jenne...are half books treated as number?
For instance, if I am reading for a #5, would this book work: The Untamed Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #5.5) by Jennifer Ashley ? It's book 5.5, but it meets the page number requirements

message 342: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) | 375 comments are we waiting to roll still????

message 343: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Lindy you're team rolled earlier. You'll have to go to your teams thread.

Ezi if it's a 5.5 it's ok for a 5.
