Kressel Housman An fascinating radio broadcast for fans of the book and/or movie: http://www.studio360.org/story/americ...

Ruzbeh One of the best fictions of the modern time which affirms life in the highest degree.

Jeffery Lee Radatz I really enjoyed this book. I was looking forward to what McMurphy was going to do to Miss Ratched next!

I didn't miss it...I read the entire book. While he was alive, though! Wow, relax!!

Curt Rude Epic clash of positional power versus informal power. I loved the storyline, the characters and the movie. Jack Nicholson nailed it. Kesey sure followed his book up with an interesting life. The story ended all too realistically. Does anyone ever recall informal power prevailing?

It would be hard to have a sequel to that book, unless there was a sequel to more Miss Ratched! haha

Martyn Halm Thanks for posting the link!

I do seem to remember a story (?) about one Jesus of Nazereth, which also would go to the point of positional and informal being relative terms - from what point of view kind of a thing. But I do think an indisputable example of informal power triumphing over positional would be Ghandi and the British in India. Martin Luther King, Jr would be another.

Howard Also, I forgot, for those who really loved Kesey's 'One Flew Over...', I highly recommend his epic novel 'Sometimes a Great Notion'. It is a more in-depth examination of the individual in conflict with larger, more powerful forces set to destroy the very fabric of his existence. The novel is a masterpiece of the quintessentially American rugged individual.
