Nicole Field (nicolefield) Updated! I'm actually pretty pleased with my effort of reading today. Second biggest after the first day :)

message 52: by Barb (new)

Barb Go Nicole -- and everyone else too :)

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) updated post #15 with 2226 pages read as of now

message 54: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Sorry I was missing yesterday... I ran errands all morning into early afternoon, getting Halloween/party stuff... and then returned home and was without power (and thus internet) until sometime after 11pm when I went to bed. *sigh*

Working on an update now!

message 55: by Barb (new)

Barb Glad you're back in the land of the powered! Sorry I couldn't get things updated last night, I had a massive sinus headache and even thinking about numbers made it worse :\

message 56: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) no worries :)

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) Hi updated again, post #15...2534 pages....

message 58: by Monsieur Mango (new)

Monsieur Mango Tango (mangotangoNBRC) | 99 comments Evana and Nancy, could you check your running totals? My excel adds up your daily pages differently than your sums! Thanks :)

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

there its fixed

message 60: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Thanks, Nancy!!!

If I haven't said it yet, I'm so happy you're rocking this Read-a-thon! I'm impressed with the progress you've made while school is in too! :)

We're all glad you came back :)

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks. I'm glad to be back as well.

message 62: by Barb (new)

Barb I love the way our team feels like a *team -- we do more than just post "I read this book and liked it." It makes this challenge a whole lot more fun :)

message 63: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Yes! :D

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 240 comments I'm enjoying the team so much as well.

I was hoping we could stick together for the next Reading Challenge when this one is over.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) updated post #15 with 2893 pages read

message 66: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) I had assumed they changed people up each time, which I won't mind just as long as they're all as nice as you people ;)

message 67: by Barb (new)

Barb From what I've heard, I think it's going to be awhile before they do another round of this challenge -- not till next year at least, maybe longer. The mods need a break :)

message 68: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) We will make sure we all keep in touch and do some challenges together :)))

message 69: by Diane L (new)

Diane L M. Mango, I think I have my total correct now. Please let me know if there is still a problem.

message 70: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Definitely keep in contact! Naww, now I don't want this to end ;)

message 71: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) We are doing a great job everyone! I have a feeling we will at least be in the top five for the RAT if not the top three :)

message 72: by Karla (last edited Oct 16, 2013 05:48PM) (new)

Karla According to the spreadsheet, we are in second place.

It would be nice to keep in touch after the challenge is over.

message 73: by Diane L (new)

Diane L I finished a funny private detective mystery today. I'm excited about it because the book was good and the author's last name starts with Y. Always on the lookout for one of those for the spelling challenges.
The Highly Effective Detective by Rick Yancey.

Second place! I don't know if that is just the read-a-thon or overall, but either way - very nice job everyone. I know a lot of you are impressively ahead of your typical pace during this read-a-thon. We have a terrific team.

That's really good to hear, Evana, since that book is on my list to read in November :)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 240 comments Yes, I was reading a book which I wasn't terribly excited about and switched to another which I knew I would read quicker.. Its all about the pages at the moment..

message 76: by Barb (new)

Barb I did that too, Lisa! If I've calculated correctly - and I'm sure Steven will correct me if I'm wrong - we've got a little over 48 hours left to rack up as many pages as we can :)

message 77: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) That's correct, Barb! :D

message 78: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Doing an update in a little while! If you haven't updated yours for yesterday, please do so if you get a chance :)

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) added another 338 pgs to bring my total pages read thru today to 3231 pages...

message 80: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Nice work Sallie! I read another 180 pages or so today. I want to stay up and read, but auditor stress is getting to me and I'm drifting...

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) I needed a pleasant distraction after the day I had reading does that yeah Get some much needed test

message 82: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Getting a lot of reading done on my day off today, will have it updated before the cut off. I believe, in Australia, that is midnight on Saturday/Sunday. Can someone confirm this for me?

message 83: by Barb (new)

Barb The RaT ends at 11am Eastern Time on Saturday, so I guess it depends on how far ahead of us you are. I don't remember where you are in Australia, but Google says that Perth is exactly 12 hours ahead of us. Does that help?

Fortuantely, they're giving us a bit of time after the RaT ends to get our final numbers posted and updated, but I don't know when that deadline is, so we should all try to get those posted here ASAP so M. Mango has time to gather all the information, verify that all of our addition is correct and submit the numbers on the reporting thread.

Unfortunately, I work all day Saturday, so I won't be able to post my final numbers until early evening :(

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 240 comments Nicole, according to the time clock ours ends on Sunday morning at 1 am.

message 85: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) I'm not sure there is an official time posted that we have to have our final updates done but I'll confirm with Sonia and the mods today. I know she said Sunday at some point.

message 86: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Sallie(Shuga) wrote: "added another 338 pgs to bring my total pages read thru today to 3231 pages..."

Nice work Sallie... without spoilers, were you happy with the end of Sookie's tales?

message 87: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Okay guys, the deadline for captains to post the FINAL PAGE COUNTS has been posted... so I'm going to need ALL final updates made by SUNDAY at 8AM sharp (eastern daylight time) so that I have Sunday to double-check everything and get final numbers to the mods.

Please please please make sure to do all your updates by then, and remember that we have until SATURDAY at 11am (eastern daylight time) to read!

I am sorry, I am terrible with time zone conversions, so you Aussie queens and the few of you in other time zones, please plan accordingly!!!

message 88: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) I am all updated! Of course I'll read more between now and then, but I've updated from Tuesday to now.

message 89: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Thanks Nicole!

message 90: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments Hello all. I am back from holiday and have definitely been reading like a banshee stuck on a very small island in a lake in Sweden. I have read 7 books and not all short ones.
I am now sitting in airport so I will most likely be updating the next few hours but I don't think I will be able to read as I am very tired.

Good to back.

message 91: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) Welcome back, Jane!

message 92: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments Thank you Nicole.

And I just found out how truely mad I am! But remember I was stuck on a island without much to do LOL

I will update during today but I have read 2618 pages from Tuesday to Friday.

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm all updated as well.

message 94: by Barb (new)

Barb Welcome back, Jane!

message 95: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Amazing Jane!!!

I'm going to go read for the last two hours of the read a thon, and then I'll look trough everything.... I stayed up until 3 am finishing Salem's Lot... It was amazing but creepy so I didn't sleep well after haha.

If everyone could do me a favor!!!! I forgot to ask before... When you've posted your final update with your last page count, can you mark it as FINAL beside your page count? This way I know you're not going to make any more changes, and I can wait to post until we are sure everyone is done!

Thanks! :)

message 96: by Karla (new)

Karla I have updated my page total for the last time. I beat my goal, so I think I did well!

Welcome back Jane.

message 97: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) Thanks, Karla! You did awesome... We all rocked this one hard!

message 98: by Jane (new)

Jane | 206 comments Thanks Barb, Steven and Karla.

I have now finished updating my final tally. I have read another book and also listened to an audio in the car but as the book was only 70 pages and I feel asleep in the first part of the audio I haven't added either of them.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

I updated my final tally

yes & no....I didnt like the ending at all & lets just say that I think that after the great love the fans have given this series as well as the "True Blood" show on HBO, the author could have given just a bit more to finish things off...
