He smiled back at her. "I hope I can. I'll miss you."

Rise hugged him back. "Hey, I um...I won't see you again before you leave. I have an importnt trip I need to go on." she said.

"I'm going with Liddy to a doctors office." she said. Hating to use Liddy as a lie but she was the only other person who had to go to places like she did.
"Oh Liddy,' he nodded. "Well, I hope she's okay. I should be going soon."
"I'll talk to you later, okay?" He smiled as he got up.

Rise watched him leave before going home and packing. It was actually happening was the opposite if her lie. Instead of her going with Liddy to a doctor's, Kiddy was going with her. She was the only other person who knew about her disease.

Rise watched as Liddy pulled up. She put her bags in the trunk and got into the car.

Liddy walked slowly to where Alex lived. She was going for Rise. They both knew she didn't have long, but Rise wanted to know how he was. Liddy knocked on his door. Hoping he was home.
Alex was at his home. He already had scored a hit with his record. He was already making a name in the city. He opened the door, smiling as he saw Liddy. "Liddy!"
Liddy smiled. "Alex!" she said in return.

Liddy grinned and pulled away to look at him. "I'm good. How about you? I've heard that you've been doing well."

"That's good." she says. "I'd love to."
He nodded and stepped aside to let her in.
Liddy smiled and walked inside. She looked around.
He smiled and led her to the living room.
Liddy followed him. She really wished Rise could've cone with her.
He smiled as she sat down. "You want something to drink?"
He sat next tp her. "So what are you doing in NY?"
"Well, I came up to see you." she said smiling.
He smiled. "That's nc of you," he chuckled.
Liddy bit her lip. "Do me a favour and visit Rise." she said. Remembering how the doctor had lowered it to 2 months from the 4 she had.
"Why? Did something happened?" He sounded alarmed.
Liddy nodded. "Alex...she..she doesn't have long to live." she whispered, her bottom lip trembling.
"What?" He frowned, not understanding.
"Rise has two months left to live. After that...she's gone." she said.
"No! That can't be!" He shook his head wildly in disbelief.
