"I'll take you to the hospital," he said quickly, seeing her distress. "Don't worry too much, he'll be okay,' he told her, turnibg the car around to go to the hospital
Rise bit her lip as she let her head fall back against the seat. Tears stung at her eyes and she sniffled. She hoped he would be okay.
Trevor parked the car at the hospital's parking lot, and then quickly got out of the car. "Come on, little sis," he said gently, wrapping an arm around her. "We'll go to him."
Rise nodded and walked into the hospital with him. She didn't see anyone she recognized. She caught the eyes of Jason's parents and they beckoned her over.
Trevor walked with his sister to Jason's parents, a worried look on his face.Lily, Jason's mom, looked up at Rise with her tear-streaked face, rushing over and hugging her tightly. "Oh honey," she whispered. "We're so glad you're here."
"We are," Alan added to his wife, his voice husky from crying.
Rise hugged Lily back awkwardly. Rise hadn't been hugged by a mother figure in ages. She gave what she hoped was a comforting smile and sat down beside them.
Trevor looked worriedly at Rise, biting his lip. He didn't want her to break down. "I'll pick you up in an hour, okay?" he said softly, figuring she wanted some alone time with him.Jason's parents stood. "We're going to get some food, and we'll give you some time with him," Lily said gently. She patted her husbands arm and then walked out with him and Trevor following behind.
((kk.))Rise sat beside his bed, frowning softly. He looked broken. Very broken. Bruises and cuts marred his face, neck, and arms. A single tear fell down her cheek and she swiped it away. She couldn't lose him.
Jason's eyes fluttered open ever so slowly, and he stretched slightly, but winced at the pain it cost him. He didn't know where he was, and he couldn't remember a single thing that had happened before he woke up.
Rise looked up from the book she was reading. She and his parents hardly ever left him. It was Saturday and his parents needed rest so she said she'd sit with him. Her eyes widened as he moved and stood up out of her chair.
Jason frowned as he saw all the wires going up his arm, and reached out to pull them off. He had no idea where he was, or what had happened. This was all very confusing for him.
Rise grabbed his hand before he screwed with the wires. With the other hand she called the nurse station. They needed to know immediately.
Jason blinked rapidly as someone grabbed his hand. He looked up to see a girl he had never seen before. "Who are you?" he asked, confused.
Rise frowned. Was he playing a joke? She let go of his arm and grabbed her book. She took a pencil and wrote on the inside cover. I'm Rise. Don't you remember?
He frowned and slowly took the book, reading the words but not really knowing what it meant. "I... I don't..." He shook his head. His head was starting to hurt with all this thinking. "I-I don't know... I'm sorry."
Rise's frown deepened. She took her book and stepped back as the nurse came in. The nurse ushered her out and Rise texted his parents letting them know he'd woken up. She met them with confused smiles. They waited an hour and a half for the doctor to talk to them.
Jason talked a bit to the nurse, and soon it was discovered that he had memory loss. For how long, they had to research that, because he still knew his name and his parents' names. But he didn't remember Rise, or her brother Trevor. It was like the past two years were wiped out.
((-_- You wanted it! *sighs* How about slowly his memory comes back and then in like desperation she kisses him and then the rest of his memories come back.))
((Alrighty ^^))"Umm... I don't know what's going on," Jason muttered, more to himself than to anyone else. It was just all so confusing to him. Well, they had told him about memory loss and all, but it was... strange.
Rise sat at home with Trevor. She was laying on the couch, writing mindlessly about how she felt. She had done that when she was younger but had stopped after a while. Now, it was a good distraction. Supposedly, Jason and his parents were coming over for a little memory session later.
The doctors talked to him a bit more, to make it easier to understand, but Jason's head was still a mess after they left. "Just ease into it sweety," his mom said softly. "You'll remember everything, soon enough," she told him. After he got his stuff and got dressed properly, they headed home. He was told that they would go to Rise's house later, the girl that was actually his girlfriend. But... well, he didn't even remember her. It was weird.
Trevor came up behind her. "Rise. They'll be over in an hour." he said, kissing her forehead. "I'm going to make something to eat. Tell me if you want anything." he told her than walked off. Rise stared numbly at her note book then tossed it on the coffee table. She turned onto her stomach and cried into the couch pillow. God, this sucked. She couldn't imagine how he was feeling but she knew she was hurting.
"Just... try to be a bit gentle," his mom told him. "Mom, I'm the one who was in a coma," he rolled his eyes, but then sighed when he saw the stern expressions on his parents' faces. "Yes, I'll be gentle about it. Don't say anything too rash or too harsh," he recited them, as they had told him earlier. His parents nodded and together they went to the car, to drive over to Rise's house.
Rise sniffled and jogged upstairs as she heard a car pulling into their drive. A little early, she thought. Rise walked into her room wiping off her face and pinning her hair back. Trevor met them at the door, giving Jason's parents stressed smiles.
Jason rang the doorbell, suddenly feeling quite nervous. He usually never felt nervous for anything, but this made him quite... anxious. "Hey," he said to Trevor once he opened the door. He felt a little awkward. "Can we come in?"
Trevor nodded giving him a tight smile and moving out of the way. He took their coats and hung them for them. "I'll go find Rise." he said and jogged up the stairs. "Rise, c'mon. They're here."Rise walked out of her room. Her face was still a little red from crying and her eyes were bloodshot. She ran a hand through her hair and walked downstairs with Trevor. She hugged Alan and Lily then smiled politely at Jason.
Jason pushed his sleeves up, a habit he did when he was nervous. Unconsciously, he revealed some scratches though, but he didn't mind them much. "Thanks," he smiled slightly at Trevor and then watched as Rise descended down the stairs. "Hey," he said softly to her. He was really confused about this whole situation, but he had to be careful.
Trevor sat down on the loveseat and Rise sat beside him, leaving Jason and his parents to the three-seat sofa. Rise worried her bottom lip, cringing at the coppery taste of blood. She'd busted it. Rise looked over Jason, her eyes lingering on the scratches on his arms.
((Crap. I didn't think this through...))
((Uh...))"Let's just give them some time alone, to talk," his mother said softly, grabbing her husbands' arm and pulling him back up. "Let's go outside. It's a nice day," Alan said, motioning towards Trevor to come and join him.
Jason knew what they were trying to do, but he was still nervous, even as they weren't here.
((Oh, thank goodness. You read my mind.))Rise tried not to panic as all the adults left. She knew that Jason didn't remember the sign language that she'd taught him. Rise grabbed her notebook and pen then wrote, How are you? Rise handed the notebook to him
Jason watched her and then took the notebook, hesitantly. "I'm okay," he said softly, after he'd read. "It's still all a bit messy, especially when people have to tell me what happened before..." he trailed off. Then, he gently gave her the notebook back. "Are you okay?"
