Sophie In case you didn't get the title: What books shouldn't have had a series or otherwise ended sometime in the middle?

I can think of one:

MATCHED!!!!!! (but I didn't like that one anyway)

Diandra | 17 comments I think Hush Hush should have stood alone because I loved but didnt get very far in Crescendo because I found it boring.
As for Matched I loved that book :D

Ethan (platypopper) | 3658 comments Divergent.

message 4: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) The Maze Runner series just kept going and going and going and (you get the picture). The first one was great, I thought it could have made a nice stand alone novel and the second one was alright but the third and the prequels that you have to read after you finish just seemed to drag things out.

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) To be really honest, I think Hunger Games could have stood alone. As much as I adore Catching Fire, Mockingjay not so much. Hunger Games easily could have been great by itself.

I agree. Divergent was amazing but I didn't finish Insurgent because I just lost interest. As for Hunger Games I can honestly say that Mockingjay was my favorite of the trilogy.

I think that the mortal instrument only should have been a trilogy even though I love city f lost souls, I think it would have ended better and city of fallen angels was so boring ;(!! That's why I think it should have been a trilogy;)!!

message 8: by Arwen (new)

Arwen I think that Origin series should of stayed as one. by the last book i just dumped it

message 9: by Chantae (new)

Chantae B. When I started reading the series I thought it was just a trilogy cause that's what it said and then I saw that she had made more books and I was like well I wonder why he chose to add one more I haven't finished city of glass yet though

I was thinking about buying that series;)!! Are they brilliant or not worth the money??

I completely agree. It was hell reading book 4 amd 5

The first three are brilliant. All I can say is City of Heavenly Fire better be amazing or she would've wasted her time with 4 and 5.

I don't think Maximum Ride should have stopped at one book, but IT NEEDED TO STOP AT SOME POINT.

I agree. I enjoyed the entire series but sometimes I was just disgusted especially with Angels behavior at some points and when Fang left. Nevermore was not what I expected but it was pretty good although the ending left alot to be desired.

message 15: by Allison (new)

Allison (aamurphh) I only read the first book of the Maximum Ride series, but I've always wanted to pick it up again and read the rest of the series. Do you think it would be it be worth it or not?

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I think you should definitely continue reading but stop at maybe around the fifth book or so.

message 17: by Allison (new)

Allison (aamurphh) Does each book wrap up nicely or will there be unanswered questions?

message 18: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments The Adoration of Jenna Fox should have definitely been a stand alone.

message 19: by Elysia (new)

Elysia (elysia_rae) Ink by by Amanda Sun, I thought it was going to just be one book but I was wrong, and I feel it would have been better if it was just a single book, so I'm not going going to even read the other ones.

I agree, book 4 and 5 was so boring, and CoG would be the perfect last book (except for the end now)

The Vampire Diaries, after The Return: Midnight, it would've been better to finish it off. The Return was hard enough to trudge through. The books after Midnight have just been collecting dust on my shelf. Staring at me and making me feel guilty.

I really agree with Hush, Hush. I love the series, but the bad guy was killed, Patch and Nora lived, and we could have easily been satisfied with that.

I agree. There were a lot of times when I got annoyed with the whole thing, but out of loyalty to the characters I finished it. I'm happy I did and I love the series but the first book could have wrapped everything up without continuing. I would still reread them though, because the characters really entertain me.

Yeah, Cassandra could have wrapped everything up in City of Glass if she wanted to. Sebastian didn't have to come back to life, and most of the relationships were figured out.
