Have to say, the title and one sentence is pretty fabulous. But seriously, Ruby, you are going to give Kamiko heart palpitations!

XDXD Sorry Kamiko, but my whole writing life is dedicated to driving you insane. +innocent shrug+
Caedor took one look at Atari, and sniffed. "What have I told you about eavesdropping, Atari?"
Atari's face turned a brilliant red, and she mumbled something under her breath, then turned back towards the fire. Caedor was always telling her not to do this, and not to do that...but she supposed it was fair enough, after all, she was lucky she was standing there this very moment at all. If Caedor had had it his way, Atari would be back home, back at boring, no fun home.
She'd snuck on the wagon, dreaming of adventure and battles and fun, but so far it was just as boring and _____ as it would be back home. They'd been travelling for weeks, and nothing interesting had happened. No trolls, no goblin encounters. Not even a unicorn sighting! But Atari was determined. Caedor was not going to shrug her off, she was going to fight something, even if it meant going off on her own. Atari's eyes brightened with a twinkle that only came about when she was planning something that would surely end with her dead as a doornail, and something else awful happened, but, of course, she didn't think about the 'little old cons'.

(Warning: I found myself, as I was writing, developing a very 'Lord of the Rings' feel to this...I have no idea why, haha)
Atari munched thoughtfully on her cracker, trying her best not to listen in on the conversation in the opposite tent. She could just see two mens' shadows pacing along the tent's wall, one's slightly shorter than the other.
"Zanër, I've told you, we just don't have time! The blue moon's nearly upon us, and the witch's hut is at least four days' walk away! We just can't, Zanër, it's as simple as that."
Atari laned foarward, almost involuntarially, but jumped back as soon as she saw the two men exiting the tent. The shorter of the two, Zanër, was red in the face and his fists were clenched, but the other man, a tall, elegant and green leather-clad figure, was completely stone faced and his jaw was set.
"Caedor! Hi!" Atari jumped up, trying to look as cheery as possible. And as if she hadn't been listening. Which she wasn't! Just...in case...
