Midnight, he repeated silent, watching her start to leave. He put his hands in his pockets, keeping a forlorn expression off of his face. He loved Rose, but wished that she didn't have to deal with the life that she had.

Listening to the other royal speak, Caspian saw movement out of the corner of his eye. Turning his head slightly, he saw Rose.
Caspian didn't glare back at her. Instead, he flashed a small smile at her.
"No, no, Your Majesty," Caspian sighed, sadly. "I must admit, I got a tad frustrated in the garden, for which I must apologize." Turning to Rose, he said, "I am sorry, Your Highness."
Once in her room, Caspian frowned at her and placed his hands behind his back. "We're in your room," he noted. "Why?"
Caspian shrugged. "You got me worked up in the garden," he responded, casually.
Caspian raised an eyebrow at her words. "Then who will you marry, princess?"
"So you do love someone else," Caspian said, stepping towards her. "Do your parents know of him?"
"I believe you just contradicted yourself, princess." Caspian studied her, trying to figure her out. "You said you'd marry someone who loves you, yet you do not love them?"
"This again," Caspian muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You know, princess, you haven't actually let me hang out with you and get to know you enough to actually, so to say, love you."
((Gotta go.))"Not until I get a straight answer. I'm curious about this," Caspian responded, staying where he was.
"Why are you so stubborn?" Caspian sighed.
"Trust me, princess. I am listening, even if you refuse to answer me," Caspian responded.
Caspian watched start to walk away, his eyes silently trailing. After a moment, he left, quietly.

John reached the sight just two minutes later. It obvious that he was in his natural element during the night and in the dark. "Hey," he said when he reached Rose.
Part of John just wanted to stand there and let her kiss him, but he nodded and started moving. He knew he was just supposed to teach the prince a lesson, but it would be very tempting to snap his neck.
Glancing at her, John answered, "How do you feel about rolling in mud?"

"Then I hope you're wearing a lot of perfume," John said, looking ahead again. He could tell though, because of his vampire sense of smell, that she wasn't wearing as much as needed to cover her scent.
John turned to face the other vampire, scowling. "Hello, Raven," he said, greeting the woman. He was turned so he was between her and the princess, though that was how he had been before.
"We're vampires, Raven," John answered. A wall had been risen and his features were carefully guarded. "Creatures of the night."
((So sorry!))John flashed a wicked smile, his fangs showing now. He usually kept them hidden, so Rose wouldn't get uncomfortable and so he could blend in a bit more. "Just having a little fun."
