Emma (emmadedtired) | 5 comments I try free books but keep in mind the price of the rest of the series.Since having my kindle I never go to the library any more :( sorry! the kindle is to convenient. I would not buy a book I have already read unless it's so good I know I'll read again.

Reed Bosgoed (ReedBosgoed) | 13 comments I generally don't buy unless I've read a sample of the book or a trustworthy friend tells me it's awesome. Luckily for me, the information age has me covered and most ebooks offer the first 10-20% to try before I buy.

Karina Gonzalez Buying books you never read is a risk, but is it worth taking ?

Diana Gotsch | 55 comments I rarely buy a book by an author I've not read before. check them out at the library first. In fact I only have a few authors I buy at all. Cost for me is an issue and the library provides for my needs quite well. Even has downloads for my kindle and audio books for in the car.

Maggie It is very rare for me to by a book by an author I haven't read before. I will usually try to get it from the library. I have some favorite authors whose books I'll buy (I re-read books I love).

Nila | 45 comments I very very rarely read a book before I buy it, I normally read the back and if it sounds like what I am in the mood to read I will buy. I would much rather take a risk and not read a book before I buy, worse case scenario I can find someone who wants it or if for some reason I hated it after I bought it, or I could donate it.

Casey (liraelclayr) | 11 comments I almost always buy books before I read them. I like not knowing what I'm getting into too. I have discovered lots of authors whose writing I fell in love with just by taking a chance and buying their book (on sale mostly). If I don't like a book I just bring it to the Half Price book store nearby me that buys used books. I never get full price but their prices on books are super cheap so I don't feel too badly about it.

Avid Reader and Geek Girl (avidreaderandgeekgirl) | 1572 comments I usually only buy books, if I loved them so much the first time, I want to read them again; I loved one in a series, so I buy the whole series; I get an amazing recommendation; or they are cheap as e-books and it's either for a book club, or I've heard great things about it.

Brooklynn N. Gibbs | 1 comments I like to buy my books -- but because Im not made of money and nobody I know is made of money, I usually just get my books from the library. HOWEVER if I freaking love the book you can bet I will buy it as soon as I can.
Also, most of the books I own have been either given to me by authors to review, I took from my nana, or I won off of blogs.

Ashley Tenhave | 8 comments My friends and I take turns buying epub books and loaning them out to each other if we really liked them, otherwise free nook book friday or other free downloads is how I get my books unless they are part of a series that Ive started then I will buy them on my nook.

N | 276 comments I buy books I WANT RIGHT NOW from the bookshop everything else I grab randomly from the second hand bookshop, found some spectacular books and some yack but at $2-$5 a pop it's not a problem. I don't think I have read a book then bought it since I was at school.

Darlene Deluca (darlenedeluca) | 8 comments Several times I've checked out a book at the library, and liked it so much that I had to have my own copy! :-)

message 14: by Dibi (new)

Dibi I do the exactly same thing. But I just buy my favorite books, the ones who changed me.

Brooke Bryan (brookebryan) | 10 comments I usually go into a book store wanting to by a particular book, but then I see another book that looks interesting and one that I heard about..... I end up buying several books that I didn't plan on only to add them to my pile of TBR books.
