Cool!
Okay so I just joined your group, In The Maze, and it looks like a ton of fun, though I'm here to warn you, I've never really done Roleplay (Just some small stuff) and I'm not really great at it. (Like at all!) lol :)

Chapter 1: There’s no place like home
Funny isn’t it? That when all is lost and gone, a man tends to think back to what they call: “the good old days”. In my case those days are certainly old, but not even close to being good.
I remember that it was one of those seemingly endless rainy autumn days. The sun was still hiding away, I would probably have done the same if I would’ve been him, and the rain was coming down in heavy showers. It was the day when I first met my demon.
Back then I was nine years old when I first met him. He was an older man, roughly about 40 years of age I reckoned, his hair and beard the same pitch black as mine are now. His eyes were like black endless pits, I was utterly terrified then. Imagine opening the door to a giant, or at least that was my perception of the man. He was so huge that it could be the only explanation. He looked to me like a walking tree. He was as tall as the old oak in front of our home and his arms and legs looked like the branches, I thought I had never met anyone like him before. It was only when he walked past me after pushing me gently aside that I was able to see the great war-axe strapped to his back. I was unable to grasp what was standing in front of me at the time, because only when I saw him in the light of our fire I could see his features.
Over the years, while my father had been gone, people told my mother how much I resembled my father. Often I’d asked my mother to tell me more about him, what he was like, where he was now, when he would finally come home again. I was only a babe when he went away to fight for new grounds across the sea, so it was impossible for me to have even the faintest memories of the man who was my father.
This man however only vaguely resembled the stories my mother had told me at night. He had not the gentle face she used to speak about, nor had he those sparkling dark green eyes she used to love so much. I only recognised him by the double bladed war-axe he carried on his back and the tattoo he bore on his right lower arm. It had the form of a wolf. A shiver ran down my spine when he first locked eyes with me. The darkness in them consumed me for less than a minute, but it had been enough for me to know who and what he was.
How could a nine year old child have known about such things, you say? Let’s just say that I liked to see myself as an adventurer, I was simply a curious child who wanted to know about everything... especially the things that my mother had forbidden me to know. So every now and again I went to see the Völva. It was not like I used to hide behind the curtain separating the working area from her living space, okay I did actually so that, but she used to tell me things. Sometimes I would go home, wondering whether she had been right in the mind, other times I walked back filled with wonder and longing to know even more. My mother of course had her suspicions but she never said a word about it.
So when I met the man who was my father I remembered Her words. That there were worlds next to our own and that those worlds were inhabited by creatures that were not to be found on earth. One of those worlds was the home of a power She would not name to me and all I know is that I could recognise his influence by a deep darkness in a man’s soul. That darkness was what I saw in his eyes that night. Though my mother did not see it and she welcomed him home without suspecting a thing.
Perhaps she didn’t want to know and she simply shut herself off from the possibility or perhaps she had no knowledge of it. However once I had seen that darkness in my father it was impossible for me not to see it. In every action I saw the influence of Him, but who was I back then but a boy who dreamed of nothing but to gain honour and glory in battle.
