SOLVED. from boy born in poverty to famous comedian [s]

Actually starts from the final chapter aboard a yacht full of rich and famous and one is murdered,but it stops before revealing just what happened.Then book starts from boys birth. Believe he was supposedly born in 20's,or 30's. Think his name was Toby. Toby is the main character. don't remember any other character names.He grew up and was popular with the ladies due to him being said to have been being very well endowed. He becomes famous comedian and actor and very rich. Goes through all the trials and tribulations of the rich and famous. All leads to the final chapter once again aboard the yacht full of rich and famous. I assume the final chapter at the end of the book has an ending to what supposedly happened and who was murdered and by whom, butr i never got to finish this book and i don't remember the name of the book.

i read it around '99' or 2000. don't remember any cover art. Think i remember late in book his wife became wheelchair bound and one morning he came out to find her drowned in their pool.
