In the country of Illea, when a prince comes of age, he finds a wife through the Selection. The Selection draws one girl from each province of the country to come to the castle and compete for the heart of the prince. Giving even the poorest girl a chance to become queen, the Selection is a symbol of hope and achievement to the people of Illea.

Still, it just isn't enough. Many believe that the caste system, which is practically the backbone of social order in Illea, is unfair and corrupt. Two rebel groups attempt to fight for justice. Nobody can be trusted.
